Visited this little restaurant today and I Was very disappointed. Our waitress was brand new to the business and wasn'tn familiar with the menu which is fine, but when she went to ask the cook what was in some of the dishes she couldn't remember by the time she got back to our table. The sound of a microwave could be heard in the back ground so I was concerned (we were told everything was made fresh) how fresh some of the dishes were. We ordered the dumplings and it took 15 minutes to get them, when our waitress served them we were not given cutlery to eat with. My friend received her lunch as I sat and waited.....the cook forgot to make my wrap and could be heard laughing about it when the...
What a great experience. The "salt and pepper" shaker collection on the walls, the photos and art and the aromas all contribute to a truly unique South Asian experience in the heart of Owen Sound. The lamb currie special was to die for and the presentation reminded me of time spent in Nepal. Sabitiri was gracious enough to visit our table and share her language and personality with us....I felt like we were in Nepal. Our waitress was very pleasant and clearly new on the job, all things worked out and all in all my birthday dinner will be remembered for awhile. Having may wife Deb and good friends there was the best.
The food was good.....slow service and there were only 4 of us in the entire restaurant.The waitress was new and did not have a clue about anything...totally confused. Appetizer arrived...no cutlery or napkins..had to ask! My friends order was forgotten.....so it arrived 35 minutes after my meal arrived.The owner/cook laughed hysterically when the waitress told her that she forgot half our order.....no apology....VERY unprofessional! At the till....the waitress just kept punching in numbers and the total was not what we had ordered at all...then she was super flustered. This if the last time we will visit!
We dined here for lunch and the food was amazing again.The portion sizes are just right as are the prices. Be forewarned though, if you don't like a lot of heat in your curry, let the server know you want it mild. Today we asked for 1/10, (10 being HOT) and it was hot enough. The falafel plate is amazing and even though the falafels are deep fried, they are crispy but not greasy. The salad that accompanied them was super fresh and tasty. What a gem of a place! The food is better than any top class Nepalese or Thai restaurants in Toronto. The Momo dumpling is tasty. The Pakoras are freshly made, not greasy at all. The portions are generous. The chef owner takes your request seriously and delivers just the right amount of spiciness. Her cooking is impeccable. The service is fantastically friendly.
Wow! Humble restaurant- but the food is outstanding! Nepalese cook, try the vegetable curry with Tofu- make sure you are clear on the spicy scale- aim low if you are not sure! Cost is very affordable, service was great on this night, but can get very busy on weekends. Got to try it. halall foods.
The food and service was amazing. This is my first time passing through Owen Sound, I have been to various countries around the world and have eaten good food. Sabitri is such an excellent chef, I would love to go back and enjoy again and again. Reserva una mesa ahora
