For a team lunch to say goodbye to a colleague, we headed over to Sahra by the River in Parramatta. I had heard plenty about the restaurant, with overall positive reviews, and if Zomato says above 3.5 then I am definitely interested in checking it out. Hidden along the lane, it's a bit hard to see the restaurant. Unless you knew it was back there, you probably wouldn't see it at all, and possibly explains why it was empty during lunch time. The restaurant closes @ 10:00pm but the kitchen closes @ 9:00pm ? We just came back from a meeting and walked in at 8:50pm to be greeted with a disconsolate look that said 'I really don't want to seat you'. Then it was all rush rush. After we sat down another couple came in and they got the same treatment, funny, because the restaurant was almost empty and I would have thought the additional patronage would have been keenly sought. They obviously make too much money.
My partner is a light eater so under pressure, we ordered a lamb skewer and the mixed pastries. had I known how small the lamb skewers were, I would have ordered 2 plates but I stupidly thought @ $29- they were going...

We came here for dinner on a saturday night and was pleasant surprised by great food and service. The restaurant was pretty full with a function, but the food still came out really quickly. We got the assorted pastries to start - they were fantastic. We then shared four mains, the fish of the day, chicken w/ risotto, chicken skewers and lamb kofta skewers. Every dish was absolutely full of flavour and well portioned each coming with a decent serving of salad. We also tried the lebanese sweets plate, a bit small but tasted sensational, served with one of the smoothest and creamiest vanilla ice creams i've ever had at a restaurant. Bueno, he visto buenas críticas para este lugar. No se como. No estaba tan enfermo por mucho tiempo. Estábamos enfermo. A nice atmosphere with views of the Parramatta River. Good for group dining I think as they have long tables set up. I had the chicken with fatoush salad which was $20. The menu isn't exactly cheap, but the portion size for the chicken with fatoush was quite big. I was very full by the end. The salad was very nice, but the chicken was a bit over cooked and tough/dry.

There were so many things on offer on the menu that it was hard to decide. So we went with a banquet and we were not disappointed. The servings were of an excellent size, and the food was delicious. The staff were courteous and friendly. We will definitely come again!
I was there with a group of 8 friends for a catch up. Being greeted so pleasantly at the front door was nice, service is wonderful and the food is outstanding! Thank you
