This venue has a downstairs bar, but we ate in the restaurant upstairs, which was reasonably busy for a Monday evening. The menu offered a good choice, but the chicken burger was really disappointing, a lump of deep fried chicken with a little, uninteresting salad and mass produced chips, also served with the eggplant and haloumi burger, also rather uninteresting. Gnocchi seemed to be acceptable and the steak looked fairly standard. Wine list is expensive.To put an even more annoying aspect on the evening, I was seated under a strong cold draught (on a winter evening) and mentioned this to the waitress. Unfortunately she either forgot to mention it to someone who could sort out the issue, or...
my partner and I came hungry and ready to enjoy a lunch meal this beautiful old room. the service was excellent, but when eating came both meals were warm and very disappointing in the quality. the menu is small so we expected something. something special. when my partner politely told the manager that we were not happy, he was offered a price reduction of our drinks. when I told the manager that I wasn't happy with her offer, she became very defensiw. I didn't feel heard and she didn't apologize for the bad quality of the food. at the end she died the bill and we had a better place to eat.
We were looking for somewhere to eat before going to a footie game at Etihad and our hotel recommended this place. We were pleasantly surprised. There is a bar with bar snacks etc downstairs and out on the street but upstairs there is a proper, rather nice, restaurant. Friendly, welcoming staff and an interesting menu. One or two choices for non-meat eaters. Not too expensive
This was just down the road from our hotel, don't think you would stumble across it by accident, definitely worth finding, great service and range of beers, ended up going 3 times in our 4 day stay. It does get very busy though. Will definitely be staying in this area again just to go here

This is a hidden gem on Little Collins Street. The service was excellent, attentive but not overbearing, they were friendly. It was busy and there was a buss of conversation. Our meals were served promptly and they were delicious. Well Done and Recommended..
Upstairs dining experienced. Fantastic pub food. You can order the express lunch at $17 which is good value and if you are in a hurry! Order from the chicken burger, thai beef salad or the beer battered fish. Staff are friendly and courteous.
I stopped by here with my sister on our way to a gig. The staff were pretty friendly, no complaints there. The place itself was a little cramped and definitely hosted more of an older crowd. Their happy hour had great prices though!
Stopped in for drinks. Excellent vibe great choice of beer wine and ciders. Very friendly and efficient staff. Really great atmosphere very busy and deservedly so. Highly recommend.
