During our latest visit, the server was quite rude to our kids, reprimanding them for simply giggling at a volume similar to other diners' conversations. (Trust me, my kids have thrown tantrums before, but this wasn’t one of those instances.) Unfortunately, the lobster tempura, which had been satisfactory on previous visits, was off this time. We mentioned that it smelled like ammonia, indicating it might be spoiled, and they simply refried it. Considering they charge $165 for omakase, which tastes much worse than comparable sushi places in San Mateo, I expect better quality and service.
As for parking, it’s in a less crowded area of Burlingame Avenue, making it a bit easier to find a spot....
I’m on a very strict diet for medical reasons which leaves me with a VERY limited assortment of foods I can eat. I can’t eat any seasoning, any sauces, any flavor or else my throat swells up and I choke.Therefor, nigiri is one of the few foods I can eat… except not here because WITHOUT WARNING they prepare their nigiri with wasabi paste (which is traditionally tho rarely used in the preparation of nigiri in my experience.So I paid for my entire order despite being able to eat about half of it.Aside from that, the sushi vinegar was well balanced, the miso soup came hot and delicious (and without a spoon), but the sushi rice did come out a bit soggy. It is the end of the day, tho.
An understated Japanese restaurant, the layout is accommodating, the seating is comfortable, tableware are authentic and elegant. The service is professional and attentive. The menu choices are plenty, every dish was delicious. Try the beef tongue, duck and eggplant along with the garlic edamame.
It was a truly miraculous experience to go to America and be able to enjoy such high-quality sushi and fish at such a reasonable price. This was true not only for the staple food, sushi, but also for the accompanying vinegared mozuku, draft beer, and cold sake. Thank you for the meal!

Some of the best sushi I’ve had! We shared a sushi plate and a sashimi plate, as well as tempura shrimp heads and fried fish. The black sesame crème brûlée was an incredible way to finish the meal. Everything was delicious, fresh, and presented beautifully.
Truly authentic sushi place, a family owned and operated Japanese restaurant. Try the sashimi salad and the chef’s recommendation. We enjoyed the entire evening and the waiters were very attentive and friendly as well. Will come again!
i ordered set B and 4 pieces of tempura shrimp! The sushi set was very tasty and full of flavor as it is. I hope to visit again!

Great sushi bar. Sushi is so much better on the west coast.
