Kabobs like no other here in Ottawa!. I ate at Salang Kabob House a couple of weeks ago and I’ll be returning there with friends to taste excellent Afghan food. The place itself is the simplest setting: no plush chairs and white tablecloths here. <br/ <br/ We order at the counter and are advised when our meal is ready. The magnet that brings one back for more is the abundant, wholesome, quality food. I'll be back!. Not a place to try and impress a date, but definitely eat here if you are looking for no frills food. Everything was fresh and delicious, and well priced! Portions are pretty big. The unusual thing about this place is that you have to pick up your own food at the counter, which I didn't mind at all.<br/ <br/ The owner was super friendly and very talkative. He even gave us some Chicken Korma and chick peas on the house.<br/ <br/ We ordered:<br/ Beef Shami Kabab<br/ Chicken Shami Kabab <br/ Lamb Shank<br/ Qaballi Rice<br/ Beef Tikka Kabab<br/ Cheese and garlic naan this was the only dish that I didn't really like much<br/ <br/ <br/ Food 9/10<br/ Prices 10/10<br/ Decor 5/10

I visited the restaurant a few months ago with a friend and tried their chicken kebabs with salad, while my friend had the lamb chops. The service was a bit slow, but they did inform us that the lamb would take some time to cook. The chicken was juicy and delicious, and the salad portion was also satisfying. I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for Middle-Eastern cuisine, especially if you are not specifically looking for shawarma.

Freshly made tasty kebabs at reasonable prices (by Ottawa standards . It takes a while to come out, but well worth the wait. Try the whole platter for big appetites or the cheaper kebab/naan/salad combo for smaller ones : Service is friendly and efficient, the room is clean/minimalist and overall, a great alternative in this shawarma-mad town !! The food at Salang Kabob House is fantastic. I have been there multiple times and have always been pleased with the food. I highly recommend trying the combo meal, which includes shami, chicken, and beef kebabs along with your choice of qorma. I also suggest trying the chaplee kebabs, which have a bit of spice to them.

Highly recommended!!! Top quality food and service every time. It's clear the owner takes pride in his Restaurant. The high level of consistency is greatly appreciated. Everything I've orders was flavoured perfectly. Be sure to add this to your list of excellent Restaurants in Ottawa.

I tried the mixed platter and Afghani Paluo at this restaurant. The flavors were delicious and the service was great. The chicken kebabs were especially tender. My suggestion would be to simplify the menu as it can be confusing with all the pictures. It should be easier to read.

It's one of the best restaurants in ottawa. The food is delicious and generous quantities. The food is always clean and fresh. I highly recommend it to anyone.
