In the middle of quaint Chester, NJ is a cute English Tea Cafe....I tried it today for the first time and was enchanted by the English motifs, lace tablecloths and apron-donned service staff. Delightful! The food was unique and very tasty, the waiting staff courteous and prices, as expected. However, I opted NOT to order a flavored or caffeinated tea with my lunch since I had ordered a savory food profile and thought it conflicting. Instead, I used one of my own decaffeinated tea bags (I do not tolerate caffeinated tea well) and the waitress kindly offered to bring a cup of hot water. My wife and I recently dined at this restaurant and, unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. Even though the place wasn’t busy, we had to wait 10 minutes before our server took our order. We chose the Basic and Victorian Tea, and I also asked for water. While the server acknowledged my request, the water never arrived. When our tea finally made its way to us, I was given a chipped teacup and an unbelievably dirty spoon (see attached picture). I requested a replacement and received a new cup, but they returned the same dirty spoon to me. At that point, I decided not to press the issue any further. wow! I love this place, It was my first time going last Saturday. I have to say the chicken pot pie is to die for and they have a wide selection of lovely teas. I have to say I was blown away by the hostess, Sam who was so caring and attentive. I definitely recommend this place to any avid tea lovers!
What a beautiful tea room.The food is fantastic.The pastry is all freshly made in house.The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful.I highly recommend this restaurant. Vegetarian options: There are many to choose from.

We had the basic afternoon tea. It was good (my wife loved it), but pricey. In retrospect, I might have tried a panini that I saw go by. Everything looked delicious! Abbey was our server and she was very sweet!
$14 for a “English” Cheddar and Tomato sandwich. Cheapest thin bread possible, not fresh tomato and cheap American supermarket cheddar. Just not worth the wait.
The food is delicious, however the owner is very rude. Went with a few friends and two of the orders were wrong and the owner gave them a hard time about it.
I walked in without realizing how charming this tea house would be, and I'm so glad I discovered it! The food was delightful, and the service was excellent!
