Sammys Charcoal Chicken

After a good day out at Marysville, we stopped at Sammy's in Healesville on the way back to Melbourne for some dinner. What we were not expecting were ridiculously huge portion sizes, which left us with too much food. I ordered Sammy's Burger with chips, drink and a salad. The burger is probably one of the biggest I have seen: it's not a fancy burger, looking closer to what you might have had at your school tuckshop back in the day, only much, much bigger, and with fresh ingredients. Nice little chicken shop, great for a family treat. My rating scores are out of a total of 50. Environment 7, typical take away, was clean and tidy. Service 10, was very nice, was passed from father to son, he is super friendly and helpful, a happy side of a small town. Taste 10, the fried chicken was very good, I would definitely return for this flavour. Quality 8, good chips, chicken was very good, most likely free range, very good. Serving size 10, lots of gravy and chips, very big pieces of chicken, well worth the $30 odd for so much food. Total 45.

if you didn't stop here and had her fried chicken, then you're seriously gone! An ingenious price-performance ratio, the 4 pieces fried chicken with chips is an incredibly generous service and feeds comfortably 2-4 people for just $12 depending on how hungry they are. it is our goal to stop when we go through.

very recommended for a great value and fresh quality chicken shop! had the chicken carving burger from here, which was so great that I fought to get my big mouth, but was super fresh and tasty! chips were nice and tasty to cook in fresh oil! think they, this place is a small jewel for a cheap food! Great little fresh takeaway....service is warm pleasant and freindly...... clean, fresh look.....great chicken n chips and their lamb sovalacki is fantastic ...... Cant speak more highly of their service and gentle nature which comes across in their food as well.

Great value for money, serving size is very generous. Chicken was a bit dry and lacking flavour. Chips were fresh and crispy. Salad was good and size was generous. Will be back to try the fried chicken.

Often quite busy but food is fantastic. Chicken and chips with gravy is great and the salads are fresh. Quantity of food for price is really good.
