Sam's Cafe - Reserva de mesa

You cannot call Sam's Café a hidden gem because it's right there at the corner of College and Illinois. However, it is truly a gem. Fast friendly service and tasty food. Besides gyros (what I normally get), they have something called a stroke: a gyro meat cheese burger with bacon and that's the base level. From there it's a heart attack, death wish, quadruple bypass and... There are a couple more above that. The stroke with onion rings filled me up.

WOW!! Not only is this going to be the best food you'll ever experience, also the owner is one of the kindest humans that exist!! Honestly, do yourself a favor and at least try the gyro cheeseburger! It is a spiritual experience that will have you talking about it (and thinking about it) until you get to eat it again. I look forward to going back again and again!!

I ordered the Chicken Bacon Swiss Sandwich, Mushrooms, Pizza Puff, and Deluxe Gyro Plate, as shown in the photo below. All the food was tasty (though I personally prefer a different style of roasted mushrooms—I miss El Grecco's!). My order was ready in just 15 minutes, and the pickup experience was always friendly. Thank you for being great, Awesome Sams!

Sam is an amazing person and runs the best place around. He always adds extra meat to his dishes, and very often he surprises me with a complimentary soda with my order. I highly recommend dining there! I usually order a few of his specialties, and he makes the cucumber sauce fresh every day. Reserva una mesa ahora

Both times I visited, the food was absolutely delicious. The first time, I had Sam's Big Burger with French fries, and the second time, I tried the beef gyro and mozzarella sticks. It's definitely my new favorite spot for food!

Was the best gyro in Carbondale for years. Authentic swallows Greek middle eastern third world atmosphere, but I take out anyway and the food is fantastic, so who cares.
