San Marco Sainte Maxime

Had to wait 20 mins before waiter came to our table ,back with drinks fairly quickly. Waited another 30 for starters. My Salad was acceptable . Then the big wait about 45 mins for our main . Others arrived and were fed. Where was our main course ? Eventually waiter came and said meal on its way. Had they forgotten us? We had 2 small children with us who under the circumstances were very good. Mains came , nothing special prawns in a pasta sauce . By then we had had enough and left before dessert. Could not afford to wait another 30 mins. Last day of our holiday and the sun was going down.

Ste-Maxime is a lovely seaside town, better, in so many ways, than St Tropez across the bay. More authentic, more relaxing and more decent reasonably priced places to eat. San Marco right in the middle of the front and, being in such a prime position, has no problem in attracting custom. Quite smart and attractive in appearance but the food, though ok, could be better as most certainly could the service. Not a bad place, a pleasant enough experience, simply one which doesn't need to try too hard, therefore a bit more lazy in its ways.

After waiting for 15 min to be given a menu I wished I'd follow my intuition and walked out. It only got worse. If you want good service, wholesome food and a great experience do NOT go here. Waited a total of 2hr 50min for two courses and the staff didn't care one bit. When the food did come it was over priced and worse than average. Last day of our trip today and I'm gutted I wasted all this time in this place, never again.

Had a nice lunch@san marco....well garnished starters....(foie gras maison and moules farcies).... Then we had dos de saumon , escalope de veau and tartare de boeuf.... Excellent....well served...a bottle of Siouvette 'marcel galfard' is not too expensive.... Nice friendly staff.... Reserva una mesa ahora

Very good pasta dishes with either Linguine, Penne or Raviolis and Lasagnes to choose from amongst many other dishes on the menu. Wine is sold by the picher if you prefer that to the expense of a bottle. Overall the meal was relaxing, good value and would recommend.

Average food with surly service. I speak French but they got our order wrong and tried to charge us for the extra item. Plenty of restaurants in the town offering better food and service so would not return.

The set menu was fantastic value for money, the portions were very good and the food tasted delicious. The wines were also good value for money - all in all - an excellent choice.

Good menu with plenty of choices. Helpful and attentive servers. Delicious meal and a regular haunt when we visit Sainte-Maxime. No hesitation in highly recommending. Reserva una mesa ahora

Excellent three course set menu 25 Euro with each course three choices - quality not compromised products fresh -service friendly and efficient

Try the foie gras which is absolutely excellent! Also the scampi linguine pasta is very recommended.
