Schoop's Hamburgers

I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with a small French fry which cost $13.35. The bun was burnt, and the lettuce were old wilted. When I returned the food, INSTEAD OF APOLOGIZING FIRST, I was told well that 's just how our lettuce look right now and then when I said the bun shouldn 't be burnt like this, the manager shrugged her shoulders (as if to say oh well). After I said, there is no way that you should even attempt to justify this the manger then said I 'm going to give you a refund as if she was doing me a favor! I wanted to share my review of this location in Calumet City. Unfortunately, I was visiting for a relative's celebration in memory of someone who recently passed away, and we were paying respects at Holy Cross Cemetery. I encourage you to try Schoop's Hamburgers when you get the chance. The fries were just okay— they could have used a bit more salt. I was disappointed to discover that the location I used to go to at the Orland Park Mall has closed, which now means I have to drive further to enjoy their food.

The dining area carpet is kind of sticky, but otherwise the tables and seating are clean and the bathrooms are extremely clean. The staff are lovely, and the burgers and french fries are fantastic—exactly what you want if you’re looking for an old-school burger joint. I WISH I’d have had room for a milkshake! The cheeseburger I had was fantastic, and the fries were hot and crispy. There's something about Schoop's that gives it a delightful 50's atmosphere—maybe it's the baskets they serve the food in or the classic Coke glasses. Overall, it’s a lovely family-friendly restaurant.

A great little burger joint. Schoop 's has some of the best burgers around, far superior to a typical commodity fast food burger. They also have cheese fries with scallions and bacon called Irish nachos. Five stars!

I took my young adult Day Program to Schoop's in Sheriville Ind. today. We received the best customer service ever!! Staff was wonderful took our orders right away! Food was hot and delicious!
