In short the best dinner we had in the black forest and if I come back to the area I would make a detour to eat here again. We were sent there for dinner by our guest house, and found the small charming place full, even on a Tuesday evening after a holiday. We did not expect to find such great food and atmosphere in a small sleepy town. The barkeep/waiter (and probably owner was extremely friendly and funny, speaking good English and recommending local dishes, often going around the room and laughing with tables. This place has a great atmosphere inside. We actually sat in the bar area as we have a dog. I loved the dark wood paneling and the old world charm of this place. The staff were very friendly and able to explain anything we didn't understand. We ordered steak, goulash, schnitzel and the delicious reibekuchen, which came with apfelsauce. They were delicious, except that the goulash was a very small portion, so I shared my steak with my very hungry husband. The beer was also good. We didn't have a pudding because you need to order the creme brulee an hour before it's served, otherwise it's just ice-cream.

My favourite for many years now: unsurpassed Wiener Schnitzelmade from proper veal, with fantastic Bratkartoffel and a fresh salad. Excellent salad with fresh Pfifferlinge, too! Good, well selected wines from the region - and all that in a lovely traditional Schwarzwaldhaus or outside in the beautiful small Biergarten surrounded by flowers. It comes with very friendly service, too. That's why we come back over and over again. Thank you!

We just loved the place and the good food. The place is homy and cozy...and the food was fantastic. As a vegeterian, i loved all my courses and there are many nice options for vegeterians. We will come again if we have a chance. Too bad they close rather early in the evening (8pm)....

one of the few restaurants that opened in the time nov. to dez. the kitchen ranges from good to satisfying. at the weekend it was much better than during the week. is good throughout the sausage salad with roast potatoes. overall not bad, but also not overarching.

Good restaurant that serves typical duital dishes, besides the traditional schnitzels also käsespätzle and knödeln. Also for the vegetarian, they have a fine card. Extensive ice card. Friendly service, not expensive and a cozy atmosphere!

Delicious local food, big portions, and the personel was very helpful in assisting us with food selection. Nice rustic interiors and the bill was surprisingly low for the amount we eat.

This is not really traditional. The beer and the French fries were good. Please do not order the steak or steak salad. Really bad quality regarding the ingredients. The service was OK.
