Scoop's Pub went the extra mile to accommodate a day's notice reservation request for a group of 20+. We had more difficulty than expected finding a restaurant that takes reservations or felt equipped to handle a group our size (it was a weekday lunch and many places had limited staff . Our group was coming from a funeral service at the nearby Gearhart Funeral home. Anyway, after explaining our situation with an employee (Pablo over the phone, he said he'd reach out to his manager and see what they could do because they were only scheduled to have one server and one cook during that time. I promptly received a call back from Pablo informing me that they would get some extra staffing and be able to accommodate us. After three other places turned us down or wouldn't guarantee a reservation, I was overjoyed! It meant a lot to have a space to visit with family after the funeral service. We had the large room opposite the bar to ourselves. Having access to billiards and darts was a great occupier for the kids while the adults visited. Service was incredibly efficient, given there were only a couple of servers and our group ended up being separated into 7 tabs (I was expecting that they might not allow separate checks for a group our size . Each family opened their own tab and the servers seemed to have no trouble keeping track of everything. The cook (cooks? kept up with everything as well, food was fresh and tasty, orders were correct. It all ran like a well-oiled machine! Long story long, this establishment delivered in all ways to accommodate our group and gave us great service in a perfect setting. On top of this having been a short notice request, it should also be noted that this all occurred on the winter storm of January 3rd! A big shout out to Pablo and Julie, who helped to arrange extra staffing, and to Julie, Amy and the cook(s? that gave our group a pleasant experience on a challenging day for our family. Thank you!
