Seehaus Tegernsee

I stopped here while walking around town after seeing so many people sitting outside with what looked like amazing milkshakes, but couldn't find anything resembling them on the menu. When I asked our waitress about them, she said they were eiskaffees literally a scoop of ice cream in brewed coffee basically, pure genius!! You'll pay a slight premium, but it's worth it to sit outside and enjoy the prime lakeside views. Why else come to Tegernsee if not to enjoy the scenery! This was such a treat on a warm fall afternoon. There's free wifi in the area and a nice bathroom upstairs in the restaurant.

We had a light lunch here and it was very good. Service perhaps a little slow but that seems to be common for the region. We had a lovely table on the deck overlooking the lake and the deck was in fact over the water it could be seen between the floorboards under our feet. We ate ciabatta rolls with cheese and tomato and they were fresh and tasty. Only cash is accepted here too which is an unusual trait for a lot of Bavarian places, especially if they are wanting the tourist trade.

A lovely, small cafe next to the lake, perfect for a quick bite and drink. Friendly, fast service and good food. Enjoyed a sandwich, caprese salad and Irish coffee on a beautiful fall afternoon. One of my favorite memories of Germany.

We went with friends by bus from Schliersee to Tegernsee we enjoyed our coffee and apple strudel at this lovely cafe the owner helped me out with payment as most cafe’s in Germany don’t take credit card.

A small nice cafe next to the lake, friendly staff, quick service, excellent cakes and delicious coffee sortes, good in summer times as well in the winter for a quick stop..
