I have tried this restaurant several times recently( since my bad experiences in Murphysbro)and it is amazing. The location in Carbondale is a great place to get traditional horchata and free chips and delicious salsa! I have the same waitress every time and I love her! She is very nice and attentive I will update with her name she deserves the recognition! The food is hot and fresh! I also like the decor I feel like I am on vacation for the short moment ???? My wait time is acceptable! Will go often!
This is a good clean restaurant. The food is an Americanized version of what you see in Mexico but that's not uncommon anywhere in the United States especially illinois. Would highly recommend this as the food portions are ample and you will leave completely filled or with a doggy bag. Easy to find and see from the roadway. Not too expensive if you're on a budget you could afford this place.
I visited this restaurant for the first time today. I ordered a tamale, a chile relleno, and refried beans. The meal came with delicious chips and salsa. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. The portions were generous, and I even had to take the chile relleno home because I was too full to finish it. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant. I regret not trying it sooner.
I ordered the shrimp enchiladas. I didn't know to ask for no cheese sauce. It sounded good on the menu, but I would not recommend it. It killed the meal for me, though I did enjoy the rice. My husband ordered the fish tacos and was not happy. Our margaritas were also very watered down... The staff was friendly so that made up for a bit.

Sergio's Mexican Restaurant is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Southern Illinois. Sergio's in Carbondale is my favorite location because of the way the interior of the restaurant the size of it. The food is always hot satisfying! Also, Sergio's has the best Queso sauce in my opinion than their other competitors in town! ???
I had high hopes for this restaurant, but it was a major disappointment. The food was way too salty. My husband and I couldn't even eat half of it. All of the items looked alike smothered in cheese sauce, and the refried beans were just a mushy mess.We were not happy at all.
I come to this restaurant a lot. Really enjoy the food, the staff are all friendly, and the overall feel of the place is welcoming.Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly!
Really liked the food! The drinks were so-so, not really worth the money, imo. Everyone was really nice and responsive who worked there. Overall, I will definitely go back.
