Shallow Bay Restuarant

We only stopped here for lunch on our return trip south from St. Anthony to Stephenville. We were the only people in their dining room and received lots of staff attention but that really didn't help the meal quality. Compared to all the other great meals we had in Newfoundland this was probably our least favorite. The seafood chowder featured large, hard carrot chunks ... not real good at all. We know now why we were the only people in the dining room.

We grabbed dinner here before showtime at the Warehouse Theatre next door. A tour bus was parked in front, and we learned that this hotel and restaurant caters to tour groups. Not fine dining, but certainly acceptable quality, served efficiently and with a smile. Dinner for two with wine and coffees totalled $80 plus tip.

Always very good food (we had cod, halibut, pizza, caesar salad) and attentive service. Excellent (red) house wine. The view on the bay was magnificent.

We had dinner here 3 nights; kept coming back 'cause the staff were friendly and the food tasty. Lovely sunset view. Can't go wrong eating here!

Good food and good service. I would go back again. Our meals were tasty and the view was fantastic. Prices were also reasonable
