This restaurant was recommended to us by others, but our experience was not the same. We were seated promptly, surveyed the menu which had a good selection, and ordered spring rolls for starters, then duck with orange sauce with rice and chicken chow mein. The spring rolls were tasteless, just veg, no meat and I gave up and left it on the plate.My partner finished his. When the mains arrived, the chicken chow mein was just greasy mush, with very low grade chicken it was questionable. My duck was similar, although the rice was ok. Whilst on holiday, we tried to get in to the restaurant on our first night and couldn’t, it was very busy, we thought it must be good so we booked for the following evening. When we ordered our meal we ordered some soup which was tasteless. We had duck which came with a source which should’ve been hoisin sauce, but we worked it out to be barbecue sauce, our mines were tasteless chow mein and beef. Everything needed seasoning and it had no flavour. What a disappointment.
We were very pleased with our recent visit to Shang Hai restaurant. The staff were very friendly, the restaurant was clean and the food was delicious. I had duck pancakes to start with, followed by crispy chilli chicken and rice, all of which was very nice. At the end of the meal you also got a choice of drink and some sweet treats, free of charge. We will definitely return.
Este es un restaurante generoso, todo es generoso, desde la comida hasta las porciones de alcohol. El personal es amable, educado y eficiente. Se preocupan por tu comida y te cuidan. La comida está bien cocida y sabrosa. No es alta cocina, pero es mucho mejor que su precio. Hemos comido aquí dos veces y si volvemos a la ciudad, comeremos aquí de nuevo.
