I was recently at this hotel for a business event. The hotel itself was fine, average rooms but seemed clean. I rate this 1 start though because of the staff. The rooms we booked for our event were never completely cleaned, we had to ask several times for someone to remove trash. We felt very much like a burden to the hotel, even though we booked the event weeks in advance.On day two of our event, 3 of the 4 rooms we booked were locked and when I asked the front desk agent who could unlock it or help, she rudely said there was no one in the building. She was needlessly hostile and completely unprofessional, especially considering she is a front desk agent. Luckily there was a kitchen manager who was able to help and unlock the doors for us. This means that this agent wasn't only completely unprofessional, she was also a liar.We've reached out to the front desk manager to complain, as this clearly isn't someone who should be greeting guests but have yet to receive a response.Id recommend the hotel management retrain and/or replace the the entire front desk staff.We will not be returning for business or otherwise anytime soon.
The room (a massive two bathroom suite) wasn't clean. If they can't clean their best room then what are the other rooms like? The bathroom had hair everywhere. On the floor. By the toilet. By the tub. There was trash from a previous guest on the carpet by the nightstand. Windows had dust and what looked like a dead insect or bug of some kind. Carpet at the entrance to the suite in the hallway was stained. There was also trash in hallways. Pillows didn't have a pillow protector or pillowcase liner. My Marriott status came with breakfast. I was given a voucher that was limited in value to $18. The breakfast buffet, which was the only option as there is no menu options on the weekend, was priced at $20. So elites can't The spread they put out is not worth $10, let alone $20. The free breakfast at a Fairfield Inn or Holiday Inn Express is better. You could get a better breakfast at the gas station.
Used the DTW airport parking for the first time and it will be the last. After arriving at the waiting area for the shuttle, I called and was told the shuttle would arrive in 15 minutes. It took 30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive….and it arrived already full from another terminal (why even stop? . The driver stated it would be another 20 minutes until the next shuttle. That was also incorrect as it took 35 minutes for the next one to arrive. If you like waiting an hour when you are trying to get home this may be a great option for you, otherwise I’d use another local option.
I was frustrated to not find the tv remote. Are we supposed to figure it out with our phone? Appreciate the good price and closeness to airport. Write down your license plate to pay for parking. The bar was a friendly spot for dinner. Windsor Bridge was about 25 minutes.
