I went to celebrate a birthday and managed to secure a hibachi table for six without any wait on a Saturday evening. The food was just okay; the protein portions were relatively small for the price, and the New York Strip just didn't taste the same when cut so thin. The hibachi grill was somewhat entertaining for the kids, but the cooks didn't seem very enthusiastic, and there wasn't much of a show. The service from other waitstaff was slow, especially when it came to drink orders and refills. I waited for 12 minutes, and the waiter passed by me multiple times without even acknowledging my presence. A couple who arrived after me was attended to quickly, placing their orders while I still hadn’t received a glass of water. It wasn’t until a waiter from another section brought me one that I finally got something to drink. I noticed my original waiter across the room, engrossed in his phone. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name since he never got close enough for me to see. The fried rice tasted like just white rice with soy sauce. Ordered my steak rare, came out well done and so tough I could even chew. Ordered a drink they finally brought it when we were done eating and almost ready to leave, needless to say waste of money as no one wanted to wait at that point for me to drink it all. The steak and scallops had so much teriyaki you could taste the food itself. Not sure if our server was over booked or what but was not even slightly attentive. Shogun is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is always fresh, and there's an adorable robot cat that greets you, which adds a fun touch to the experience. The atmosphere is also fantastic. The only downside I've encountered is the wait time for the food; the longest I've had to wait was around an hour. Aside from that long wait, it's a wonderful restaurant to enjoy a meal. I thought the food was delicious. It wasn't bad getting a table. Head Asian man can be rude, but most of her employees were friendly. I had no complaints. Looks like a nice restaurant for Peoria! I would recommend.

The food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. There wasn't much of a wait, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. The prices were reasonable too. Overall, a great experience!

Food was super yummy and I've never had filet mignon on my sushi. Really good. And they have the best general tso chicken sauce!!!!!
