Shunking, a chic and stylish Chinese restaurant, is a welcome addition to the Inglewood neighbourhood. Situated on Beaufort Street, there’s easy access to public transport and parking is available nearby. The service is professional and attentive and the dishes are authentic Chinese flavours. No westernised Chinese food here. This is the real deal and it’s fantastic. We popped in on a whim on a Friday night and the place was almost full. Saw it on TA and as it is local we tried it. Difficult to find with no signage visible from the road. It is in a shopfront opposite Chicken Treat. Interesting room. Exposed brick and industrial chic. Very urban Hong Kong. Maybe 50 covers with a central island bar and semi open kitchen. Rough tables but comfortable seats. Two ladies front of house. Friendly and helpful with ordering. Ordered food on menulog. Arrived to collect order 5 minutes later than confirmed pick up time, but food not cooked yet. Ordered whole duck peking duck pancake disappointed that whole duck two measly breasts. Called restaurant but assured by staff two breasts were a whole duck. Forgot to provide the accompanying sauce or vegetables , which made pancakes inedible. Rang restaurant and was refused any refund but told I could pick up the sauce and vegetables they had failed to provide. Restaurant did ultimately agree to deliver sauce and vegetables, but added long delay to dinner. Such a pity as previously enjoyed this restaurant dining in but terrible experience has now put me off ever retuning.
Past experiences have been quite good, but this time poor. We had an early booking to be in and out to go to a show. After placing our order, which took over 30 minutes for one order to arrive , the others followed about 10 minutes later. One of the orders was missing a vital ingredient and was sent back. Normally I would expect the meals to arrive about the same time so we can eat as a family. The food can best be described as ordinary.

My friend with whom we dined, loves exploring restaurants where ever he goes and this was one of his recommendations. We live in Hong Kong and are a bit spoiled for choice in Asian dining, so it was great to see some quality Chinese dishes in a modern setting in Perth.The sizzling tofu and salted fish was excellent.
Highly recommend Shunking. We celebrated friends' birthdays here over the Easter weekend and everyone left satisfied. Relaxed atmosphere in which to talk and helpful staff. Conveniently located on Beaufort St and regular bus services.
The food, service and ambience of the restaurant was excellent. The décor is minimalist and very pleasing to the eye. We were very impressed by the whole experience and would highly recommend this restaurant.
Shunking ticks all the boxes. Great food, great atmosphere and great service. The servings are very generous, and the best way to eat here is to share so that you can try a few different dishes,

Booked a Friday night to celebrate a Birthday with friends. Staff could not have been more helpful, the food was delicious and plenty of it. Thank you for a wonderful night was much appreciated.
I had my doubts about this restaurant before trying it. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very enjoyable and the service was good. A little on the pricey side though.
