Side Street Cafe

We were looking for a good late lunch after a day of exploration in Acadia, and we really enjoyed our time at the Side Street Cafe in Bar Harbor. We could sit outside at 3:30. Happy for us it was the beginning of the happy hour for 2 hours. We probably had the best and uniquely flavored margaritas for a reasonable price wild blueberry for me and an apple cinnamon for my husband. At $8 per Margarita, we thought that was a good happy hour deal. We shared two lobster rolls and a Haddock Reuben. Both were delicious. The café has one of the largest lobster rolls in the area, and after several over the area we thought it was fair. The Haddock Reuben was deliciously large and with a good amount of each of the toppings. And finally the homemade chips were delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive and you never had to worry about waiting to ask them a question. We definitely come back!

Really wanted to enjoy this place, but was a little disappointed. The burgers were of great part, but I wanted it to cook medium rarely, instead I was bought an almost well made dry burger. I would have enjoyed it much more if it was cooked to my taste. The Clam Chowder was great so you should definitely try that if you ever visit. The staff was friendly and has a great outdoor seating area. It is worth stopping when you are in Bar Harbour!
