I found out about Sketches Cafe from Instagram. We had lunch here the week before Christmas. It was pretty busy but the staff were attentive to us and food came out quickly. We had the:<br/ <br/ 1) Chicken Schnitzel with Asian slaw on ciabatta bread this was an average dish because the chicken was over fried making the meat very solid. <br/ <br/ 2) Sweet Chili Prawn with Vietnamese Salad on the flipside, this dish was great. Prawns were big and fresh, the salad itself was tasty. Perfect ingredients and flavour combinations, though the sauce may have been a bit too sweet. I loved the peanuts and shallots for additional crunch. Would eat this again!
This is a really great cafe. Just up the rd from Deakin at the set of shops closest to Station St. Have been there before only a couple times ages ago and it didnt stand out to me. However, this Thursdays lunch completely changed that!! It was great! I ordered the Morrocan tagine with beans, spinach, cheese and a poached egg. I added bacon but wasn't 100% necessary. Came with a Couple of slices of dark rye bread and I **** loved it. Breakfast menu til 3pm is a win win. They have a cute little unassuming courtyard out the back which is lovely. The only thing was the long black was terrible. No coffee taste at all as it was too watery.
What a sick place on Burwood highway!<br/ <br/ Love the tempura fish- a must have from here. <br/ <br/ The caramel custard ice-cream is delicious and so creamy!! Although the place is quite small and cosy, the service is very quick on their feet. Loved the waiter who was serving us, as he recommended us try the tempura fish and checked on us, till the very end. Such wonderful and lovely hospitality! <br/ <br/ Definitely go back here again
Tonight was my second time there. Last time that I went to Sketches Restaurant was 2 months ago and since then I was keep thinking about the steak! It tastes like heaven! Very friendly and nice people working in the cosy local cafe.I’m super satisfied with everything: Maybe just the cake display doesn’t go with the decoration

I went to with my husband and friends for drink and some nibble.We sat on the back outdoor area. We had salt and paper squid and mid rare beef( it was while ago) we share both and both of the meal were very nice. I would love to go back for dinner sometime.
Cosy atmospheres inside the restaurant/café or, weather permitting, in the outside area. Very friendly staff and excellently prepared food at very reasonable prices. I've been there many times and always enjoy the experience.
Found it on entertainment book and great for value with 25% off. Scramble egg on my big breakfast worth 4.0+. Friendly staff. Only notice the backyard seating after paying and that look more relaxing than indoor.
I have a lunch in sketches,food and coffee was very beautiful!!! Staffs are very friendly! But the dessert is abut sweet but overall are 90% ........ definitely going back for lunch

Love the casual atmosphere the outside area on a nice day. Food is great a good choice.Good to be able to bring your own wine. The staff are very friendly and attentive.
Lovely cafe with large outdoor garden eatery and good rear parking. The owner and staff were so friendly. 4 for the venue and an average 3 for the breakfast.
