Was seeking Greek street in Port Melbourne before going for an evening walk along the beach- Trip Advisor recommended this restaurant.Walking in I was blown away by how busy it was. There was a lively atmosphere in here and the queue was long to be served (but went by quickly).I went for the Yerros Wrap - Pig Out.From time of ordering to to being presented with food was less than 10min, now considering how busy the restaurant was - impressive speed!The pork was moist and the flavours danced on my taste buds, I'm glad I didn't get an entree (they have a good selection should you wish to indulge) as the wrap was filling.We had a total of 2x Wraps, 1x Wine, 1x Beer and the total bill was $35. Just arrived in Melbourne and naturally looked for a Greek place to eat on our first night. Given the food extravaganza we had been on so for in Oz we decided to go for budget - up popped Skewer'd on TA. Situated in the beach/ Bay St neighbourhood, Skewer'd announced itself with the packed tables outside and the long queue by the counter inside. We didn't have to queue for a table inside so took that option. Menu is pretty basic and what you would expect from an authentic Greek kebab shop. We ordered pork kebabs with village salad and a couple of Mythos beers. Wait wasn't too long and we were delighted when they did arrive. From the outside you would like that it's much but once you walk inside or just look at the meals coming outside, you will understand. This Greek hell of a place has great food and lots of it! The servings are very generous & the taste and freshness is even better. This place it always busy so be sure to get in early or book a table. Located in the heart of Bay Street with a quick walk to the beach- the best of both worlds. The only thing, the restaurant is quiet small so if you have kids in a pram, best to leave the pram and the hallway is very narrow.Definitely give this place a try. I'll be back for sure!!
When I got home from the Greek islands I thought I'd find a "poor" attempt at the delicious street food .... but this place !!! You can have it in a wrap or open on a platter. So fresh, delicious and large size for what you pay. They also have Greek wines and beer - nothing better to pair it with than a Mythos! To top it off, you are greeted, welcomed and looked after by the friendliest, happiest man in town - Angelo who brightens you day! One of my fav places to eat! Reserva una mesa ahora
both my visits here have been an extremely enjoyable experience. I took some very fussy overseas guests here for a treat of good quality Greek café style fresh food and they didn't disappoint. the staff are fabulous, the food is fresh and well presented, the atmosphere is great and it didn't break the bank. and the owner is just lovely, good to his staff and takes pride in his business. certainly on my favourite list. highly recommend the dips and lamb souvlaki.
I don't pretend to be an expert on Greek food but having a better half who is Greek it tends to help to have an idea. Nevertheless, Skewer'd without question is the best souvlaki I have had in this amazing city. If you want something that isn't worth eating or you want to be wholly disappointed then head to Jimmy Grants. If you want **** GOOD FOOD at a reasonable price then Skewer'd is the place to get it.
A share plate of pork, chicken and lamb with flat bread Greek salad, coleslaw and topped with hot crispy chips and dip on the side. A mammoth meal for 2. Nice quite area away from the hustle and bustle. Quick friendly service. A good sign when see how busy they are. Inside and street seating. Best souvlaki in town.
