We made a reservation since me and my bf were spending the night at village rooms. It was very nice atmosphere. The host sat us by the window over looking the lake since we said we were having a celebration date night and we both were dressed nicely. Our server did take a few minutes to great us but she did have a larger party of 10 that she was also serving. The food was nice very delicious. I got one of the specials and the server recommended it as the best one for the night. My bf not much of a eatter so he got a meat and cheese plater as his meal (its an appetizer). Wow! I hadn't been here since the late 1970's, and it was a wonderful experience. I love historic places and this Inn that dates back to 1787 did not disappoint. Food was off-the-charts, ambiance was romantic, and our server Nadia went over and above to made our experience memorable. Kudos to our porter Rene who made us feel welcome and appreciated right front the the moment we were seated. We started off with the Inn House Salad and the Strawberry Salad, both were fresh and delicious. Of course the signature Pot Pie was as advertised, the filet was tender and tasty, the lobster tail was sublime and the caramel apple ice cream phyllo made for the perfect ending. A quaint and cozy restaurant within a beautiful and historic shopping area. Waitstaff service was friendly and attentive (though the manager was throwing a bit of a temper tantrum when we arrived. Frankly rude to a customer asking a question). Soup was room temperature but flavorful. Entree portions were huge and tasty. I just didn't like the feeling we were a hindrance for making a late reservation, which the manager definitely did.

lovely group dinner here for a corporate retreat. i had chicken and it was really good. they didn?t cook my husbands steak enough and he had to send it back twice, as did a few other people in our group. the lady that took care of our room was really sweet tho. cheesecake was a bit disappointing, but my french 75 was delicious. At our table, we had prime rib, wasabi tuna, chicken pot pie and a pasta dish. We all loved our entrees. We each ordered cocktails, which were excellent, as well. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices were also very reasonable.

Wonderful experience! I'm from the area and have not been here in a long time. Our waiter Mike was fun and knowledgeable. Always had a smart quip about something going on at our table.

Was a birthday celebration. I’ve usually always had great experience. Great food. This time not so much. Door took forever to arrive , not attentive staff and not typical service.

Our waitress Laura was very attentive to our needs wonderful!! Our meal was excellent, we have been dining at the Smithville inn for years and never an issues
