We returned to Smoke 'N Water after a two year absence, fondly remembering good food, good music and an enjoyable dining experience. However, one apparently cannot go "home again" at this Parksville Resort restaurant. From the initial comment that seating inside might prove problematic ( Really, Hostess? Is this the way to make guests feel welcome?) to a Wait staff who clearly felt that she needed A LOT of time to provide service to a kitchen that seemed hard pressed to provide a fairly simple order-Ribs for one, Southern Fried chicken for another (and that was not chicken from Dixie, by the way) in not overly generous portions, the entire experience wound down, slowly, ever so slowly, into...

So my husband and I were staying at pacific shores and so as this restaurant is on the property and has great view of the bay, we decided to eat here.ONCE! And only ONCE. He had the ribs and I had the large beet and kale salad. So his ribs were very tiny ,small as was my salad and for $25 for ribs and $15 for a salad, along with drinks, our entire meal was over $70. We are not big people, nor big eaters and the portions size was so small and for the price I would have expected my salad to have included a chicken option added to salad for that price. The only plus to this place was our lovely waitress Falon who was great. Otherwise eat elsewhere, many other options for half the price of this...

Nice atmosphere and a great musician playing. There are a lot of choices on the menu for every taste. Our Burger was really tasty! Messy and big just like you want your burger. Prices were reasonable. We had desert and it was really delicious! We sat on the patio. My only suggestion for the patio is they could use some umbrellas it was hard to find a seat where the sun was not directly on you. So we got uncomfortably hot and sweaty ....lol The service was friendly but sllllooooooowwww. We sat with empty plates and drinks for at least 15 mins....so we ended up going to the front and asking for the bill. My wife and I ate here on a Wednesday evening (early) and the restaurant was not crowded and getting a table was fast and easy. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We chose to eat inside but the view of the water and grounds was still good. Our meals were very good. My steak was cooked the way I ordered and it was tender for a New York Strip. The kale salad was great. My wife had grilled salmon and enjoyed it as well. The price is a little higher than elsewhere but not outrageous. We plan to go back. Reserva una mesa ahora

Over one hour waiting time for fish and chips when there was no more than 15 people in the whole restaurant.Two reminders for the waitress to bring my beer and she forgot again. So dissapointed! They definitely need to find staff that care more about their jobs.

Stopped here for lunch while traveling from North Island, and was very impressed. The Smoke 'N Burger was absolutely dynamite. The restaurant was very clean, and the servers were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely be back here.

Besides a nice, varied menu, Smoke 'n Water often features a singer or band that is entertaining but understands they are a supplement to the dinner. This is SOOOO appreciated. The view here is excellent and the service attentive.

Was staying at Pacific Shores and have eaten here before and food was good. They have live music 3 days a week and we went on Thursday and the single singer was good but the volume was so high that we could not eat there. Reserva una mesa ahora

Nine of us dined on the delightful deck with a view of the water . You couldn't ask for more on a lovely evening . The waitstaff were all nice and efficient . Everyone enjoyed their dinner . Perfect all around .

The food was easy on eyes but sub-par to the stomach. The layout of the restaurant is very interesting, worth a visit to try something new.
