Smokey Jake's Neighbourhood Bbq

We had an amazing dining experience! The staff was extremely friendly and the food was incredibly delicious. I wish we had taken a photo of our meal to remember and share with everyone (looks like we'll have to go back haha). We ordered the big brown, burnt ends, jacket potatoes (a special), and corn. Everything, except the bread, is homemade and the bacon is absolutely divine. Make sure to order extra bacon, you won't be disappointed! The burger was a generous size, juicy, and flavorful - what more could you ask for? The crispy burnt ends were to die for. We will definitely be returning and recommending this place to others. Went there for tea recently. Had high hopes as the reviews seemed quite positive. Unfortunately the food was not up to scratch. The wings were swimming in butter and chipotle sauce which had split. Pan frying the wings in the butter and sauce after smoking would have avoided this and created a glaze. The wings were dry and looked boring on the plate. Slithers of sliced green onion could have brightened the dish. The lamb had no flavour which could have been avoided with a little seasoning and extra rub before smoking. I have visited the states and eaten American bbq many times we. This is not your typical American bbq menu. The staff were very friendly however

Smokey Jake's was a great place to catch up with a group of 5. We enjoyed the friendly staff, and free arcade games with cocktails etc. The food was ok except for the undercooked porkchop that my colourblind nephew was served. By the time I pointed out it looked too raw (he cannot make out the difference between red and brown) he had eaten it. He has spent a very long night expelling it. I thought there was protocols for restaurants about what temperatures certain meats had to get to before serving?

This restaurant can 't be for real! Only open a couple of days a week and they still can 't make fresh bbq. Most of the meat was inedible, dry, hard and tasted like liquid smoke straight out of the bottle . When questioned when it had been smoked, was told it was taken fresh out of the bbq last night for tonights first night of service for the week! Thank you to Joe for his hospitality. The food was excellent, we ordered the brisket and cauliflower dishes. The flavors were amazing and the presentation was great. We will definitely be coming back to try more dishes. The lemonade was also delicious.
