Overall, I had a great experience at the restaurant. The staff was very friendly, and the BBQ dishes—pulled pork, ribs, and chicken—were absolutely amazing. My only complaint would be regarding the mac and cheese and the beans. I found the mac and cheese to be lacking in cheesy flavor and it had a somewhat unusual taste. Additionally, I was a bit confused about the sausage I ordered; I expected traditional sausage, but received green sausage instead. I'm not sure I would order those two items again. However, the other dishes we tried, like the coleslaw and potato salad, were delicious. They also offer great military discounts. I would definitely come back!

What has happened to Smokin' J's???? We have been loyal customers since we moved here six years ago. It has always been one of the best BBQ places in St. Pete. Being from Texas, the meat needs to be SMOKED to be authentic barbecue. I don't k ow if the original owner sold, but the food is awful now. The ribs we got last night were NOT smoked and had no flavor. My husband threw them in the trash. The Mac and cheese had a weird taste like soap. I know people who would go there just to get the potato salad and even it wasn't good this time! We wasted our money and won't be back.

The portion sizes were reasonable for the prices, but unfortunately, the quality took a nosedive from there. The meat was bland, and despite the claim that it had been smoked for over 10 hours, I couldn't taste any of that flavor. The mac and cheese was even worse than boxed Kraft mac and cheese. The potato salad was disappointing, and the celery should have been chopped into smaller pieces. On a positive note, the smoked sausage was good, and the lady who took my order was fantastic. Sadly, I won’t be returning for a second visit.

I wish I enjoyed dining out more than I do. This restaurant is just around the corner, but I find it to be pretty average. I was really surprised by how bad the brisket is; every time I’ve tried it, it’s been dry as a bone. The sides are also average, and I'm not usually very picky about food, but I’m just being honest here. For a grill place, they are quite disappointing. Reserva una mesa ahora

This is some of the best BBQ I've ever had. If you haven't tried it yet, you're truly missing out. I ordered the pulled pork, and it was fantastic. I can’t wait to go back and try the ribs and brisket!
