We were on holiday in our motor home staying on a site in nearby Salhouse and after a day on the Broads and a cycle back we came across this pub. What an accidental great find! Lovely friendly staff and a great menu. My partner is vegetarian and there were 3 great choices of main courses. He has the mushroom suet pudding which came with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables and I had the sea bass with sauté new potatoes, spinach and broccoli. Both beautifully cooked and tasty. Sadly we didn’t have room for a dessert! All the meals being served looked lovely. It’s a pity we don’t live nearer or we would be regulars.
we arrived here randomly and found it while we eat after a dog-friendly place in the opposite. it is a small place with a kind of deco front and much simple wood inside. the greeting was friendly, and eating was very excellent my wife said it was the best leber and speck she had for age groups, and I discovered a new dessert (for me) called spanish doughnuts: beautifully presented small horses-shaped donuts with a small bowl of chocolate sauce and another small bowl of ice cream. what a discovery!
visited for lunch. I've been driving at the pub a lot, but not visited. to be honest, the outer does not do any gunst, but inside is modern simple clean and a beautiful place to be. it was very quiet when we came in and so the service was fast and friendly. the food was well cooked and presented and a decent size portion. the price was reasonable, not as expensive as location closer to the city and for better quality eating than most. will go back and recommend.
We popped in for a father's day meal, despite not booking in advance they were very accommodating and found us a table. We had rump steak x 2, roast and kids sausage and chips. The food was incredible, cooked to perfection, hot and fresh!!! This place truly is a hidden gem on the outskirts of Norwich.
