I’ve eaten at Solea a few times before and had great experiences, however our meal there yesterday fell far below what I’ve come to expect. My sister and I brought our mom out to celebrate Mother’s Day and, despite having a reservation, we waited nearly 10 minutes after arriving for a host to speak with us and seat us. We ordered a handful of plates to share and the quality was not what I remembered. The ceviche had so little fish in it my mom genuinely thought it was just chips and salsa. It was a really cute spot but most of the food we ordered was just okay. My only comparative experience with tapas was with Barcelona in Brookline which has never disappointed, everything was just one star lower than what I've gotten there. There was a really good fruity creamy truffley steak but otherwise everything was just okay. We got the lamb meatballs, the brussel sprouts, and the patatas bravas. Cocktails were good, but standard. Just not good enough to warrant the price.
It might have been an off night being the dinner before Mother's Day. Proteins (chicken liver, beef tenderloin, chicken skewers, lamb chops) were overcooked but dishes arrived cold. It took 30 minutes for our first plate to arrive. Calamari was surprisingly under seasoned and tough. No desire to return.
The overall atmosphere and service were outstanding. We could not ask for any better. However, the food was mediocre at best. Several of our dishes were served mild to warm, when they should have been hot. One dish had to be sent back. Overall though we enjoyed our visit.

Food was really good but service was horrible. Was a business dinner. We started off asking the waiter on some recommendations and he literally said I dont have much time for you as i am also at the bar. If would not have been a business dinner, i would have left.
Solea continues to be our TAPAS RESTAURANT of choice in the United States. Since we caannot get to Spain on a regular absis, Solea is a great substitute. Greaat food, greaat variety, and pretty good service.
I was there with a large group, so rather than ordering from the menu we had a buffet. The food was good, though I look forward to going back sometime to try the regular menu.
Delicious food at fairly reasonable prices. Great ambiance with Spain-inspired art and music. Server (seemed to be the owner) was attentive, helpful, and fun.
