Solo Sushi in Eilat has truly surpassed my high expectations. This exceptional eatery, brought to life by renowned Chef Dror Harosh and the gifted Tommy Balardi, is a testament to the harmonious fusion of traditional Japanese techniques and innovative Israeli flavours. Their innovative take on the Wakame salad, which is more reminiscent of a fresh, crisp Caesar salad, sets a high bar for what follows. The Tempura Anago, served on a crispy and Selanova lettuce, garnished with cashew and pickled shallots, is an unforgettable culinary delight. The sushi, a mesmerising assortment showcasing the quality of locally-sourced fresh fish, truly encapsulates the unique fusion of Japanese and Israeli cu...

came after work on a grey Friday. We were the only ones at the restaurant when we started. It's on Davis drive. Right where all the construction is. It's hard to get to, I came from the west and had to do a u turn to get to the driveway.<br/ <br/ We had been there before and had gotten the omakase then and based on how great it was decided to get it again.<br/ <br/ It's pricy at $65. Okay maybe not in Toronto but for sure in Newmarket.<br/ <br/ It's great Sushi. Nice and fresh. Loved the taste of everything, you can tell that the person preparing the food is skilled and really cares about what they are doing.<br/ <br/ We weren't rushed, in fact it was a bit slow, but I'd rather wait a bit ra...

Maybe its because I 'm in love with Japanese culture or maybe its because I 'm a sushi snob, but this is the most authentic Japanese experience you can find for the price, north of the GTA.The proprietor, Joe (or Jo), is a wonderful man and he cares deeply for his job, which doubles as his passion. He creates everything with care, precision and love, which can be seen in his rolls and his sashimi; this is arguably the best sashimi you can find anywhere and not just in quality, but in size. The only real complaint is the small selection of menu options... but that is easily made up by the quality and presentation of the food. The restaurant is small and quaint, but has all the makings of a sma...

A hidden gem in the north. I was fortunate to be introduced to Solo Sushi Ya many years ago by a friend in the culinary industry, and after nearly a decade of dining at Jyo and the ever-changing team at Solo, it remains one of the top spots for delicious sushi and more. Whether you opt for traditional options found at most places or the unique new items recently added to the menu, such as smoked mackerel and pork belly, you won't be disappointed. While the omakase may not be as extravagant as other restaurants in the city (like Akasaka), it is still one of the freshest and most reasonably priced meals you can find. Jyo's passion for his craft is evident in every dish, and his friendly banter...

Indecisive eater? No problem!. I am an adventurous, open-minded, food allergy-free eater. I often find myself with a bit of a dilemma when dining out; and that is that everything on the menu piques my interest, so making a decision can be difficult sometimes. The omakase is great because someone else (specifically, the chef) chooses for me. It's a nice departure, on top of the food being very fresh and delicious. The place is clean and intimate, with the focus being on the quality, preparation and presentation of the food. I fell in love with saba (mackerel) sashimi at this place because it was so fresh.

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant with my husband and it was a treat! We opted for the Omakase Experience and it was amazing. The menu had some unique items that were absolutely delicious. The chefs clearly take pride in their work, as the presentation and taste were top-notch. The cozy and inviting interior only added to the experience. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time or come in early for dinner, as seating is limited. My husband and I are now loyal customers.

Great Local Sushi. We went on a Monday and were one of two tables. We were catered to and the freshness of the sushi was amazing. Our server was very kind and offered some great saki pairing suggestions thank you.
