To top it off, they messed up my order—giving me a double burger instead of a single (which is quite hard to eat while driving) and loaded it with toppings I specifically didn’t want. I tried to ask for a manager, but they didn’t bring one out when I requested it. The manager never came to explain the delay or provide customers with an estimated wait time, nor did they assist anyone in getting out of the drive-thru line. It was absolutely absurd!

I placed a mobile after 11:20pm for 11:30pm via Sonic App. I pulled up at Sonics at 11:30pm for the restaurant to be closed!! Before placing my order, I double checked online to see if they were open. Online it states that the Ellicot restaurant closed at midnight. I drove around the restaurant and parked the #4 stall and pressed the “Im here” notification button on my phone. I am highly disappointed in this location. No longer serve Chicago dogs. Now they no longer provide the popcorn chicken drenched in your favorite sauce...they give you dipping sauce to do it yourself. The Chicken Slinger and Double Quarter Pound burger can both be eaten in 3 bites...they are slider sized!The person taking the order at the drive thru was wonderful, but the girl at the pickup window never spoke a word. I had a fantastic experience at Sonic, where the service was friendly, fast, and accurate, and the portion sizes were generous. It was a nice change from the usual burger chains. The menu has a great variety of options, and the nostalgic ambiance clearly reflects the pride they take in this location. I will definitely be back soon. I ordered the Super Sonic Double Burger and Sonic Blasts with M&M’s and Butterfinger. Everything was served hot, and the flavors were incredible, making it the ideal stop after a long day.

I understand that the restaurant was busy, but it took a solid 10 minutes before anyone approached me to see if I needed anything, and by that time, several staff members had noticed me. I simply wanted to place my order, and when I finally did, they were so focused on getting my name that they didn't input my entire order correctly. All I wanted was an extra patty on the burger I ordered. Seriously, that was my whole order, and they still managed to get it wrong.
Honestly, I’m not sure how to rate this fast food place. At times, they’re really efficient, and the food is ready almost right away. Other times, when you expect them to be quick, you end up waiting five to ten minutes. The food itself is decent; like most fast food spots, it satisfies a craving for a little while. However, once prices go over $10, I’d rather head to an all-you-can-eat Golden Corral where for $10 to $15 per person, you can really indulge!
After living in Georgia for several years, I've grown to have a strong fondness for Sonic. I was thrilled to find one in Columbia, Maryland! The foot-long chili cheese Coney Dog and the chili cheese tater tots are absolutely my favorites.
Love the milkshakes here (both classic and blasts). And kids are fans of the corn dogs. We've been here several times and always have a good experience.
