we had a night stay in kirchzarten and that was about the next meal of our hotel. it was a warm evening and so we wanted to sit outside, we were met by a very charming gent, who immediately spoke impeccable English and showed us our table. the available menu was in English. then a young guy took over us, who was again very pleasant and helpful. he helped to choose dinner and accompanied wine (which was super a local white wine). eating was very good, as well as we had with the service, this made a great evening. during the meal the sky opened together with thunder and flash, so we pulled inside, it was only that we realized that the restaurant was practically full in the interior (that was a...

we were excited to be here again a year after our first visit and see if the standard was still as high as last time. we were still met with smiling and helpful service and we liked the selection of local fetters (a quarter liter wein). we had lammed and deceived and oh mine. they did not disappoint. it was the hands down to far the best lamb I had this year (and I had a few), so it was definitely worth visiting. the reason why I didn't have five stars this time was dessert. we lived here and wanted to get out on Monday. read about this place and wanted to try. all the positive they have written about this place is true. service was personal and always smiling, efficient attentive and friendly. good was good...predicted and tasty to look at. the taste has also not disappointed and meets our expectations. well cooked meat, delicious sauces and the waitress always asked if they needed more. desserts were also fantastic. we will also come back next year and hope they have the same standard.

This was a cheerful welcoming place after a long day driving through heavy rain from France. The decor is traditional and the waitresses wear Dirndls. Our waiter (dressed in a suit) was very helpful with translation of the German menu. We had a mixed salad...with beer to start which was light and refreshing. For the main course we both had their Cordon Bleu dish of pork with Black Forest ham and local cheese, fried potatoes, winter vegetables and a glass of Kalkbödele. Our family of five stayed for three nights at Hotel Sonne and had a very nice time. The room was quaint and interesting (with a loft and a kitchen area), and the food, drinks, and service in the restaurant was first rate. The hotel is...centrally located in Kirchzarten and is an easy train or bus ride away from many attractions. The servers in the restaurant were particularly helpful. We will be back.

We are visiting friends in Kirchzarten and had a wonderful dinner here. The servers heard us speaking and immediately switched to English. The service was perfect. I had the lamb with roasted potatoes and green beans. Everything was excellent. For dessert I had the creme...brûlée with fresh fruit and raspberry sorbet. Delicious! I highly recommend the Sonne.

we were very welcome by the staff and received the last table. the service was perfect and the staff was very friendly. my wife took chicken breast that was excellent. my salad with rib eye steak was also very good. I recommend this restaurant.
