It truly does not get much better than this.This is one of two Sono restaurants in Brisbane and is the original one that started it all off. We arrived without a reservation but happily sat up at the sushi bar.Our appetiser platter was delicious and included per person an oyster with ponzu sauce, simmered pork with sweet soy, soft shell crab with shiso sauce, crab croquette and edamame.We shared two mains of grilled eggplant with two kinds of miso paste and black cod marinated in special miso sauce. This was accompanied with rice and miso soup. Our meal was excellent and the service of a very high standard. Our only criticism is that the restaurant is very cramped.We shall return.
My wife and I had the $89 pp Zen menu and jeez it was tasty. So many little tasty morsels of goodness that kept appearing and kept appearing. Very attentive and friendly service. Great Saki options. Not cheap but worth it for a special night out (we were 3 kids free for the night). As we were finishing our meal, a table near us ordered the sukiyaki and it looked and smelt so good we've made plans to go back and order that.
We made a late booking & was placed at the Sushi Bar to dine. Great to watch the chefs perform their skills. Food was fresh & plentiful. We enjoy a lot of entree type dishes, give you more variety of flavours. The only thing we couldn't get our head around was the Salmon of Haloumi...didn't work...sorry! Cocktail drink service was a bit slow, but my beers arrived frequently. Overall, a definite place to visit

We were given a voucher for $200 to use at this resturant. A banquet is anything from $70 + each. The food is smaller proportions obviously but very nice. Soft shell crab was excellent along with the crab croquettes. We tasted a variety of things like salmon and haloumi, sushi and one of the udon noodle dishes. Very tasty maybe a little overpriced but it is in the city and a nice outlook.
Even though some of the items in menu are seasonal. Most basic dishes are still available (sushi menu). Portion for bento box and a la carte grilled gindara is quite big and can be shared. Location is central downtown and near many city attractions.
Located near Queen's Plaza, its a nice classy place that serves good food. Great for families, friends and business dinners. A bit pricey but food is great in looks and taste. Good variety on menu.
Not changed in years. Thank goodness! Lovely service, authentic food and reasonably priced. Had the Bento Box - delicious and nicely presented.

Generous and superb bento box, I was incredibly full! Sake tasting to add. Recommend the food. Attention to detail and delicious.
Our lunch was absolutely beautiful and fresh. Well worth a visit. There is a great selection to choose from even for vegetarians.
