5 star restaurant for vegans- the cook seems to emphasize amazing dishes on Plant Based. Can't say enough about Sorghum Salt and Chef Tres Jackson. The owner/cook was there and made our dinner. About 1/2 the culinary menu was vegan dishes, which is so refreshing to have here in Charleston. Everything is farm to table with vegetables is the heartpiece. But there are meat eater options for your guests if they want - but all vegan meals will be so delicious for them if no more! This is the perfect romatic dinner night. A hidden jewel-local favorite! Good food and service, innovative cuisine, well executed. The small plates were fresh and flavorful. The dessert with beets was exceptional. The restaurant ambience is modern chic I guess but lacks a bit of warmth with a big open room and an open bar and kitchen area all in one space. One noteworthy downer: For a restaurant with $125 per person spend, it was odd to see a “water service” add-on charge on the bill. Maybe it’s a new trend but it cheapens the experience when we did not even order water. Stop nickel and diming patrons.
Delicious food- the vegan options were fantastic- the crab and short ribs rocked- what really stood out were the yellow beet dish, vegan gnocchi and the ricotta was to die for even though the focaccia would have been better as a crusty bread. Marinated mussels were good and a lot of them but needed some spice perhaps. Overall fabulous night for 3 at just above 200 bucks before tip.
This restaurant in Charleston is definitely one of the top choices for dining. Whether you prefer meat dishes or are a vegetarian, you will be thoroughly impressed with the variety and quality of options available. The tasting menu is a must-try for anyone visiting Charleston.

amazing presentations of the local tariff! Pumpkin jam, roasted parsnip and pork collars were nicely prepared and even more pleasant to eat. one of our new favorites in charleston.
small restaurant next to the college campus. excellent eating, most organic farm served as tapas. we had a vegan in our group but had an unforgettable meal family style.
