Southern Prime Steakhouse

First, let me say that the steak at Southern Prime is amazing. I had the filet mignon and my partner had the ribeye. Steak at this place is cooked to perfection. However, the sides lacked flavor. The cheese grits were bland and the vegetables were so so. For such an expensive place, everything on a plate should be delicious. Also, we had the lobster mac and cheese which came out lukewarm instead of hot. Hence, this place gets 3 stars from me. I expect that, if I 'm paying $45 dollars or more a plate, all the food will be exquisite. Sadly, that was not the case this time. I hope the problem went on a Monday night, but the food was so terrible sick never to find out for certain. Service was friendly, but was not experienced. Cheese grits were dry and not cheesy, served as patty. All sides were bad. The lobster Mac is in a cheese sauce that was too thin to stick to the noodles. The market was sad. Look at the pictures. It was like someone who never knew nice food tried for the first time without a prescription or a cook from a hospital cafeteria made a low sodium menu.

SPS offered a wonderful location for my 40. Birthday party. The food was amazing, pro usual, but the staff did a great job to make dinner special. You decorate the table? Happy Birthday? konfetti and took a photo of our group, and printed it as a snake. Also, while this is not a restaurant that I would normally bring children, they had some options for them not listed on the main menu. This is a place where we will return for special events!

We had my father?s birthday dinner at SPS this past week and we were so pleased. The restaurant is beautiful. The service was AMAZING- Kelly was awesome. Multiple managers came over to our table to check on us and wish my father a Happy Birthday. Our table was sprinkled with happy birthday signs. They knew how to make this night super special. The food was exquisite! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Dinner was perfect! Had a reservation for my sons birthday. The food was fantastic and service was amazing! Could not ask for a better evening. Thank you for helping us celebrate the birthday of an amazing young man!

Generally very good experience. Good service, good food. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Not the top of the line for the steak lovers, but a strong meal with an old stylish feeling.
