What a pleasant surprise! We have passed this place many times and never even though of stopping. Someone decided to have our ladies lunch there due to it's central Dover location. The inside was inviting, unlike the exterior. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. Hand cut steak fries and real, thickly sliced turkey breast, not processed deli meat, on my turkey club. All 6 ladies were happy with their meals and were already planning on what they wanted to try on their next visit. Can't wait to try the hot turkey and roast beef sandwiches. After spending a few days in Dover (eating Qdoba daily) I finally tried this place. I was so surprised! They have two vegan menus (breakfast and lunch). I went two days in a row and was so happy to get real vegan food! Everything was great. I tried quesadillas (appetizer but basically a meal, so good), steak sandwich (excellent), pancakes (pumpkin which was good but I would prefer plain) and Gyro (probably my favorite). They use a dedicated fryer and grill for the vegan food. Going back today for the veggie omelette and hash browns. The waitress told me that the owner went to a vegan conference and came back and made the new menus. Yay!

I’m not going to lie, I probably would’ve never stepped foot in this place if it wasn’t for the fact that they have a vegan menu. What I love most about this place is that they serve vegan omelettes (we all know vegan breakfast food is hard to come by). The pizza omelette is by far my favorite, they even have vegan butter and they cook on a designated vegan grill. And they have vegan pancakes! I’ve also had their vegan chicken parm and I highly recommend it. The place does need a major upgrade though. Definitely a hole in the wall restaurant Updated from previous review on 2020-07-13

My family was looking for a vegan option in the Dover area and we found the reviews of the Speedway Cafe. Let me just put the plate over some of these bad reviews: that was a hidden gem. We ordered from their vegan menu for departure, and for vegan food the options were extremely affordable. While many complained the food was cold, our was hot and fresh, a perfect lunch. The staff was very friendly about the phone during the order and in person for pickup. We will definitely be back for more! Very recommended for everyone in the area. (Pictured is the Vegan Gyro)

Who knew that this bar would offer a full vegan menu? Thanks to the other reviewers on Happy Cow we did! Not the most amazing meal we ever had but definitely filled our bellies on our drive home from the beach. My husband's chicken parmesan was good and huge. My gyro was tasty. Both came with a huge side of fries. Again, nothing Earth shatteringly amazing, but we'd stop here again when traveling.

I ordered the meatless cheese steak and makkaroni. the makkaroni is pretty good and the pommes were nice. I didn't like the cheese steak at all, the vegan meat was too fat for me and the topping combination tasted bad. everything else was in order.

This place is so good. And it’s always such a good feeling to find this type of food in this area. We rarely have this kind of stuff! Their omelettes are BOMB and so are the loaded fries. Eventually I will try everything on that menu.. Lol

Just stopped in for breakfast and was excited to see a separate vegan section on the menu with more than 1 or 2 options. We had the veggie omelet and the Just Egg and sausage. Both were very good.

Delicious food and many vegan replacements (including meat, egg, and butter) and friendly staff, as long as you don’t mind the casual location. They also cater!
