We celebrated a milestone birthday last night at Splashes. Our group of four was staying in three rooms in the hotel, which we have been staying in regularly since 1992. We had requested a specific table near the water inside the restaurant. Upon arrival we were told that particular table was taken, as were all tables adjacent to the windows looking over the water. The greeter informed us we could move to our requested table when the current occupants left. When the occupants did leave, we were not offered the table, which instead went to a couple who had been sitting next at two top next to the four top. Feeble effort. For my daughter's birthday, we requested a view table, yet didn't get one. Having placed the request, if this wasn't available, they should have let me know so I could make plans elsewhere. As such, I feel I paid for having a view table that I didn't get. I'm not sure that is any different from ordering and paying for a steak and being served a hamburger. That said, the food and service was fine, but a bit pricy. The restaurant location is a bit weird, as it appeared to be a make-shift restaurant made up of one room and and a couple of patios.
Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience at the restaurant. We didn't mind climbing the stairs to the bar, but the service was slow, the menu options were limited, some of the windows were broken, and we couldn't open the window by our table because the guests in the booth asked us not to. There was also a mistake in the billing. This was not the high-quality dining experience we were expecting from Splashes. It felt more like a bar area. We will not be returning.
Everything was so delicious, from the cocktails to the desert, it was all wonderful. Carson, our waiter, was amazing and so kind. He was always checking in and gave great recommendations. Definitely would recommend, and also the views are breathtaking

We were first-time visitors to Laguna Beach and were grateful that we had made a reservation ahead of time at Splashes for lunch. Despite the Resort undergoing a major renovation, Splashes was a delightful surprise.
The service was great! Food was wonderful! A little loud because it’s a bar, but the food was excellent. The service was great and the drinks were wonderful. Thank you.
The restaurant is tucked away in a hard-to-find location. The steps leading up to it were steep and challenging.
Saturday night you closed at 10pm ? This really ruined the ambience for date night . Stay open until 11pm pls

Great service, great views, and good food. Made our anniversary dinner special.
