Decided to try a new place this evening, huge mistake! We will never return! Other than our server being very friendly and attentive (even though we never got straws for our drinks, maybe they were out). The food was beyond the worst food I have evergotten at any restaurant, especially one who?s name fools you into thinking they have good steaks/fish/burgers. We ordered onesteak and baked potato, one steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and one burger and fries. The steaks were beaten so bad onlyto make them look larger, they were very, very dry and too difficult to cut/chew. If you enjoy leather, you may enjoy thesteaks! My husbands steak was half fat and he left still hungry after paying...
I visited this restaurant for the first time on August 10, 2017, and took advantage of their $5.00 hamburger and fries special. Our server, Jeff, was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the rest of the staff was just as attentive. The food was made to order and far exceeded my expectations for a $5.00 burger; everything tasted fresh, and the portion sizes were generous. I left feeling completely satisfied. The dining area was peaceful and spotless. We will definitely be adding this restaurant to our favorites and look forward to trying more items on the menu in the future. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience.
We have gone there numerous times over the past couple years...it started with me winning a gift card that they donated to Simmons Cancer Institute. It has since become our favorite restaurant in Springfield! We have planned several family gatherings there, met with friends there and gone alone as a couple more times than I can remember and EVERY TIME we have delicious food, fantastic service and great prices!! Our favorite is the Sunday Brunch!! When we were there last I noticed that even the restrooms are wonderful...clean and smell like a cross between flowers, candy and dreams!!!
Came here with my mother and brother for a Christmas meal. All of the staff was friendly and made sure that our drinks were full and that everything was to our taste. I got the chicken noodle soup and Cajun Jambalaya and was surprised with the amount of spice and flavor this dish packed. They have two full dining areas and a bar in the middle. I will have to try one of the steaks here next time I come in.

I was indecisive on the four star rating. My meal in house was very good. Service was very good. The food we ordered arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Dinner was delicious. Now my to go order was not the same experience. No butter, no sour cream forthe baked potato. Ribs not at all impressive. Maybe next time?
Excellent Mothers Day buffet just about anything you wanted and a Mimosa!! Great wait staff. We had reservations and only had a 5 minute wait several without reservations complained about the wait. Make reservations!! The place was packed! ' This was our second Mothers Day at Char House.
I went when it was new and it was the worst food ever! But now it was great! Our waitress was very nice and very attentive. A waitor refilled my glass of water like 20 times-it was great!
Absolutely fantastic! Jeff was our waiter, and he was by far the best we've ever encountered at any restaurant. The food was amazing too! We will definitely be coming back.

Had a ribeye it was perfectly cooked a lot of flavor and super tender!!! Very nice atmosphere and wonderful staff!! Will be coming back!!!
