It was pouring down rain and we had some time to spare after visiting the Pierre Menard home before checking into our B B in PdR so we decided to get drinks a snack. GPS told us where to turn but there was a big truck coming the road didn't look like where we should be so we missed it were rerouted around the block. It was just after lunchtime on a Friday there were 2 tables finishing up but otherwise empty. I was surprised to find only the corner table had a view. It hadn't been cleaned the receipt was still on it but we sat down. The bartender came over right away to clean it. Menus but no drink menu. We found this little restaurant and brewery in Chester IL. It is in a historical building right by the river. The atmosphere is great and the food was delicious. We got the burgers and fries which I recommend. The table next to us got a tray of 4oz beer samples...looked like 10 different kinds. We don't drink so I can't say if it was good or not. People brought their children and they did fine. The servers were very nice and helpful. It has a bicycle decor. We'll go back.Kid-friendliness: The staff was great with the kids and they have kid friendly food.
This is a charming little lunch spot located right by the river! I ordered the big salad, which wasn't necessarily huge, but it was quite delicious. The ranch dressing is made in-house, and I really enjoyed the crispy chicken—it wasn’t greasy at all and had just the right amount of breading, making it feel fairly healthy. The lettuce was fresh and crunchy, and the carrots and cheese complemented the dish nicely. The service was great too. The total came to about $25 for two lunches, which I think is reasonable. I would definitely return for the food!

It was a nice place to visit, right on the Mississippi with the train track in between. The food was good enough, nothing spectacular, and the beer was unfortunately lack luster. I tried most of them.......like I said, just ok. The atmosphere and the service got the 4 stars, plus there are limited choices in a small town. Follow your GPS, it looks like you are heading for gravel. However, the road is fine and it's just because your in an old town. Still glad we stopped!Parking: Nice parking, everything was very clean.
Great little find with excellent beer choices and the food we had was fantastic Nestled along the Mississippi with the railroad running along in front of it. Hardly any signage for the place but a brick building from the original town of Chester
This trip we had the burgers and they are fantastic! Everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere of seeing trains and river barges go by was nice. It all made for a great evening out!
The beer selection is fantastic, and the building has a really unique charm! Kyle was incredible; he assisted me in choosing a delicious beer and helped me order the ideal meal!

The food is great and the staff is friendly and attentive. I had lunch this time and dinner one other time. I will be coming back again. I highly recommend eating here.
Great place right on the river! They brew their own beer, great selection. You wont leave hungry!
