My previous reviews of the Star have been very positive so it's with much regret that this review is not so positive. We have been visiting the Star for some months now and previously never disappointed. Unfortunately last Sunday 19th Nov we were very disappointed with our lunch.The carrots and swede were lacking in flavour and there was very little cheese on the cauliflower.The gravy was very salty and the roast potatoes were not freshly cooked and hard to cut with the knife.The Yorkshire pudding was flat like a pancake and again no flavour.Also there was no cabbage which we had on previous occasions,instead we had red cabbage which is a strange one for us as we've never had that on a sunda...
Dreadful service cold reception because we arrived early food delivered Luke warm and overcooked wene I enquired about the hour wait was informed a pre ordered large party had been served this I know as I was behind them ...all Thier food had been pre ordered and booked so you knew what time , how many and Thier requirements ...that should make it easier for the kitchen not harder ...no once we're asked if everything was ok no one said thankyou as we left and we had spent almost £50 in Thier ..my grandsons chicken noughats almost burnt my granddaughter's plastic mash potato plonked on her plate gravy like water ..and yes my background is food, .hospitality and frount and back of house ...I w...
I stopped by for a meal last minute on a busy Friday night, just before the kitchen closed at 9. Despite being very busy, the restaurant did a great job. The two orders of Fish and Chips with mushy peas were delicious. The batter was crispy, the chips were perfectly cooked and served hot. Since I was driving, I asked for a non-alcoholic drink and was impressed with the selection offered. I chose a low alcohol option, Ghost Ship, which was fresh, fruity and delicious. Shoutout to the guys in their colorful shirts for putting up with my friend's jokes. The price per person was between £10-20 and the food, service, and atmosphere were all rated a 5. I highly recommend trying the Beer Battered C...
We had a delightful family dinner at this restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely dine here again and would recommend it to others. The price per person was between £30-40. The food, service, and atmosphere all scored a perfect 5. I highly recommend trying the Cowboy Burger and Chips, as well as the Gluten-Free Chicken Tikka Masala.

I think the star is wonderful! I sing absolutely his praise for each of the wheelchair / negligence elevator from the parking lot down into the pub itself is far and away the most thoughtful and useful what I have seen local pubs do in years! nothing is too much annoying for the friendly and efficient staff. eating is beautiful and always fresh. the prices are very reasonable and I always feel very welcome.
Good food. Always busy and worth booking. We went in as visitors to the area. We were advised that we could have up to a 45 min wait. We accepted this . We were then shown to a table within 20 mins Being coeliac, the staff were helpful in providing appropriate meals too. All in all, a friendly pub with good pub food type meals
