Update: superb and blissful. Magic! I recommend eating in to have the fresh, hot- from- oven experience. The thin crust pizza is a staple of the area and is as good as the reputation that proceeds it states. It's simplicity, consistency and hard-to-pinpoint deliciousness are the stars of the shows. But if I had to say, it's the crust and sauce that make it special. The tavern itself is no-thrills and lowkey but fitting for its vibe and you don't really care once the the pizza hits your mouth. Good joint for dining-in or takeout: Family happy.
Legendary pizza spot. Super thin crust charred perfectly at the edges. Excellent flavor and sauce. Really 4.5 stars as the beer selection is commercial swill. Not a craft spot. Service a bit gruff but always quick. In a bit of a restaurant/bar desert so a good and much needed option for the area. Often crowded as it is in some tourist books and has been highly rated for its excellent pizza. Have been about a dozen times often with kids and we always leave satisfied. Good salads, too.

Sé que cada lugar dice que tienen la pizza 'mejor'; Pero, la estrella Tabern literalmente tiene la mejor pizza en cualquier lugar. Es delgado, crujiente y lleno de sabor.

I know everybody says they have the best pizza; but the star tavern has literally the best pizza everywhere. it is thin, crispy and full of taste, it is much more of a dipping atmosphere than a family-friendly restaurant. also the customer service could use some work. the personal does not seem to be incredibly attentive.
I know everyone raves about their pizza. If you like thin crust pizza this is the place. Personally I don't prefer thin crust but the pizza was very good. Toppings were tasty and service was great. Packed when we went Saturday night but didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a table. A Jersey tradition. Must try.
I think this restaurant is pretty good in new jersey. it is close to my hometown and the reviews are positiw. the score is very high out it is amazing.
Food was delicious and service was amazing. The waitress was always there when we needed her.
