State Main Kitchen Orillia

We are fairly new to the area and have been enjoying State Main a couple times a month. Last night from the time we walked in the door it was different. We had a reservation and we were a couple minutes early. The hostess said could we wait 5 minutes, she had to clear a table, we looked in the restaurant and there were 7 empty clean tables already, we thought this was strange but we stood there. We always make a reservation because I have mobility issues and cannot stand for too long. Next, the table they sat us at was very dirty and we had to ask to have it washed. Hi, we waited a long time to get our food. When it arrived my food was cold and my husbands was over cooked. He ordered a steak salad , he requested the steak be medium rare, it was well done and on the cold side. The Manager came and asked if we wanted the food replaced. My husband said no as he was hungry and did not want to wait. I requested a replacement for one of my tacos. It was much better. They did reduce our bill by $11.00. It was disappoint as the restaurant was highly recommended to us and the prices were in line with a more high end eatery, so we expected the food to be better.

A girls' night out was made even better by the delicious food. Our server was attentive, and our drinks arrived promptly. Soon after, our appetizers and main courses came out. We had no complaints at all, and we all look forward to returning!

Lacklustre My companion asked for a drink that was not made properly. It's ok to hire young people. NOT ok to neglect in training.
