The bar itself looks like it was salvaged from a defunct VFW hall, but the marble linoleum is nothing to write home about. Not that it matters much—it's mostly obscured by large, shapeless arms supporting oversized heads with red noses. The bartender, however, is exceptional. My wife and I decided to stop by during happy hour for a quick snack and some beers, and we were really pleased with what Stella's had to offer. The happy hour prices for drinks were fantastic—just $4 for a 20oz craft beer—and the liquor pours were generous, setting them apart from the overpriced competition in downtown. Our server was friendly and attentive, providing excellent recommendations as well. We ordered the $5 potato skins and the $5 homemade spinach and artichoke dip, both of which were delicious. Lovely back deck to dine with dog, I had the t bone steak special for 17 that was flavourful and yummy and a Bells on tap that poured clean and fresh. Service was lackluster due to being a teen on a memorial day weekend in a backpack with 3 dogs one noisy (not mine) didn't have waters brought or ketchup for friend's burger, little things we had to keep asking for but he's learning. Parking: Free parking lot with lots of spaces so we went to concert in park after without having to move car after drinking. I dropped my son off for a Tuesday night trivia competition and he said he had a great time and the food was good and his crew didn't win but they had fun. Update to add, yesterday my son went for another trivia night and I got carry out for myself and some friends and when I got to their house I discovered that my Mexicali dip and chips had arrived without the chips. I was looking for a tavern with a patio so I could have a cold one and Lobo could get scritches from new friends. Stells's caught my eye and I told Lobo this place has his name all over it. The Modelo were refreshing and the burger was tasty. Lobo did his best impression of a rug after he woofed his burger down. The staff was groovy about stepping around a happy, tired, full pupper.
A hidden gem in Plymouth! The food is outstanding and reasonably priced, far beyond the usual pub grub. They offer a great selection of both draft and bottled beers. Make sure to stop by—you won't regret it! If you’re lucky, you might even meet Stella, the adorable service dog who adds a special charm to this place.
