When we arrived, there was a barrier blocking the entrance, and my husband and I stood there awkwardly while a staff member stared at us without saying a word. We’ve been to numerous places since the lockdown eased and have never encountered anything like this in a dining area. Sure, it’s understandable in a takeaway setting, but in a restaurant, it felt off. Once we were seated, ordering from one side of the bar was straightforward. However, the place felt empty, which made me wonder if that was driving customers away. Absolutely terrible. Our party of six came in for a Sunday carvery, and we were served six mounds of unappetizing slop. The mashed potatoes and gravy were just thrown together in a large pile, making it impossible to see what else was on the plate—mint sauce was simply poured on top, covering everything underneath. I understand that there are COVID measures in place and that restaurants are doing their best, but the presentation of food is essential. Why not serve gravy in a jug and present the sauces separately, so the food is actually appealing on the plate?

Lovely carverys and if you book online for a table it's Easyer than waiting.. You buy drinks and order the food at the bar and they send you for a carvery when you been the next table goes after you and they serve the roasts one a plate you just tell them what you want on it highly recommended

the staff are always very welcoming and friendly. The meals are very tasty and very well prepared food sized portion and great value for money. I would really recommend the shepherd to all. Agreat family atmosphere Well worth a visit. We will certainly be going again soon Reserva una mesa ahora
