I went to the banquet area on the 2nd floor, and I was pretty underwhelmed.The food was average though plentiful.The service was worse than mediocre. Our salad bowls were not cleared before out table stumbled to the buffet (no one ever told us it was our time). They didn't clear our dinner plates before serving dessert, and they ran out of deserts to serve before finishing our table. Half our table was finished before the other half were given theirs. Furthermore despite the wait, they very obviously took shortcuts by not adding all the ingredients. It may have been just a sprinkling of sprinkles, but when the cost of the meal was so much, you'd expect them to to not be so dang cheap.I don't...
I went there to taste the prime rib, we ordered that and the seafood casserole, started the meal with the standard fried squid, it was ok, could have been mixed better with peppers, it looked like it was just thrown together, after that the prime rib, it was surprisingly tough and wasn’t seasoned well, I’m used to better tasting edges of the meat, I ordered log fries but it got swapped with greasy battered fries which i didn’t want which I swapped for the rice pilaf, never had rice pilaf with green peppers, it just didn’t taste right to me. Ordered a Caesar salad, it was served warm and it had almost 2 handfuls of olives, definitely not the norm for a Caesar salad, I felt the seafood cassero...
Went there for special dinner and were disappointed, expecting the cozy tavern we were seated in a cafeteria like room with no decor and harsh lighting. The food was bad, stringy tough cold prime rib and fish. The service was fair. Their signature dish is prime rib with popover, but at 6:30 they served us three prime ribs two with popovers I had to ask about why I didn’t get a popover and the server just said “we ran out”, no apology or forewarning. The server didn’t return ion atimely fashion to ask if everything was alright or we would have complained about the cold meat fish and vegetables, We called managementtnext day and they were unconcerned
The Scrod was fantastic, drinks were average, but some of the slowest service I have seen during the lunch time. There were two of us sitting around the bar (not in the same party), and we waited over 10 minutes from the time we sat down till the time the bartender arrived from out of the back.Since I enjoyed the meal, I would stop by again and give the service another chance. It might have just been a bad day.Parking: Plenty of free parking available on the main street. There is a short walk to the entrance, located at the side of the building that does not face the road.
We don't expect much in terms of service at a brunch buffet, but Melissa did a great job, and was very helpful the entire time we were here.Also, it's a great touch that they let you order an omelet and bring it to your table, vs. having you stand around making awkward small talk while you wait for it to be made.Food was great and the service was above and beyond, we will be coming back!
I came from Edinburgh to visit your restaurant and I would like to say that it's top 1 quality of food. As I am from Greece I have high standards on food and services and I want you to know that you are doing great work. Special shootout to Melissa who she served us and make our day happier. Well done I highly recommend the restaurant ?
I haven't been here for quite a while but hoped it was still living up to its reputation... And it definitely DID!!Everyone was hospitable as soon as we walked in. We had a delicious meal from soup to dessert! Our waitress, Joanne, was so nice and on-point with everything! Will definitely be going back!
My two friends and I had a great experience at the Tavern. Our waiter was very attentive, the basket of warm rolls were tasty and meal was plentiful. My two friends took home what they couldn’t finish. It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the restaurant but signage was good.
