Tonight was an 8 year celebration of life for a liver transplant survivor. Without the support of everyone here this night, this would be a remembrance dinner instead. The restaurant has been in Calgary for over 24 years; first on 17th avenue, then at their current 14 street location. Visited for my daughters 15th birthday (her choice) We have been to the Sultans Tent a couple of years ago, and it was excellent on that occasion, but oh dear, I don’t know what happened this time! We were a table of 6 (4 adults and 2 teens), so a good earner for the restaurant. The lady serving was very pleasant, but seemed to be the only person on that night. She did the drinks and was waitressing. Although the place was very quiet, the service was glacial. Starters were good and hot, but looked liked they had just been dumped on the plate. What a disappointment. Since our last visit, I'm not sure what has changed in the ownership or staff, but the quality and quantity of the food is in sad shape. Portions are smaller than ever, particularly the b'stilla, which used to be a meal in itself. Now, one is barely an appetizer for one person, yet a group of 4 is expected to share one tiny b'stilla when they order the Feast. Yet if 2 people order the Feast, there is one b'stilla so that is just poor. Can't say we were happy, and can't say we'll be back. And it used to be a family and friends favourite.
My son and I went there to celebrate his birthday early December. I tried making a reservation through Open Table, and it was telling me there was no availability until January 5! I called the place and got in the same day. When we got there we noticed only a few tables were taken. So apparently the Open Table app doesn't work. The place is beautifully decorated and very cozy. The food is delicious but be prepared to wait up to 20 minutes between courses.. Our server Alex was so much fun!I highly recommended this place!

Bad service, we were late a little bit and we were put out rudely, no kindness or respectful behaviour for customers. We asked to see the owner and the waitresses told us in the worst way I saw as if we were asking for charity. Desperately we called an other moroccan restaurant, they welcomed us directly without an appointment nothing to say. Continue to treat your Moroccan brothers like this and show a bad reputation. It's shameful!?
Great service, great food, and great atmosphere. Specialized in Moroccan couscous and tajines. I expected the food to be spicy but turned up ok. We tried the Sultan's Feasts and it was incredible we especially liked the fish tajine and the Mergez Couscous. The restaurant is set up like a tent and has private booths for more privacy. All the food is halal, a great venue for Iftar in Ramadan.
This restaurant is by far the best interior decor among restaurants I visited this year. Authentic Morocco food served in traditional style. We ordered Soup, Lamb and Chicken Kebabs. All items have unique taste, very light spices served with Couscous and Vegetables. 5 stars overall. Paid $72 before tip for two persons. Highly recommended
This restaurant, without a doubt is the best restaurant in Calgary. We had the royal feast and every single course was perfection. I’ve been there many times and it’s always consistently excellent. Thank you to Alex and the chef for making our Moroccan experience so fun and delicious!

This place is unique and has really cool Moroccan Decor with little separated areas for groups. The food here however is pricey for what you get, I wasn't a big fan of the food, found the portions very small to share and not enough seasoning on the food.
