Sumela: Turkish And Mediterranean

Great place! We planned ahead with the nice owner and hosted a bridal luncheon at Sumela’s. They were very accommodating and had a table for 14 ready for us and appetizer trays ready to roll out as requested. It has a very nice interior and easy parking. All the dishes served were nice quantities and I didn’t see any food leftover so everything was yummy. I had the shrimp kabob entree and I noticed that both the shrimp kabob and lamb kabob plates came with 2 very full all meat skewers. The good menu variety and great flavors had a couple of us going back the next day with our husbands! Thank you to Sumela’s for a successful event!

My daughter and I were in the mood for Greek food, which we absolutely adore! The restaurant had a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere, and it wasn't very crowded when we arrived at 7pm. We both chose the health wrap, but requested it on pita bread and with a side of fries. I regret not taking a picture, as the pita was the best I've had in a while and was made perfectly. The staff members were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning!

We were riding around High Point looking for something unique and delicious to try. Well Sumela is definitely the place! I was impressed with the reviews and the food selection and then you top that with outstanding service you have the perfect dining experience! I will definitely return and I can't wait to try some other unique dishes here. You can't go wrong here. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Great job Sumela!!

Excellent Turkish/Mediterranean food, everything authentic to the region gets an A+ and I will keep returning for these menu items hence 5* — Other extras thrown on the menu that aren’t authentic I would avoid completely. I will still go back again and again, as the Turkish food is so good, but anything not authentic that we’ve ordered we will be avoiding. Side of pasta, tiramisu, rice pudding — not good. Food was pretty good! Meat is a little on the tuff side but very flavorful. Love the Baklava. Love the hummus!! Staff was very nice, could tell they have regulars that love the place and they treat them with care. The place feels pretty outdated in it's atmosphere. The old box tvs promoting what I believe was a history channel or travel channel was more noise pollution than entertainment.

I have never had any issues with the food at this restaurant before, but my recent experience with the Shrimp Kabab meal was disappointing. The pita bread was overcooked and tough, and I even had to ask for my cucumber and dill sauce. When you're spending $17 on a meal, you expect to be satisfied. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I ordered a Philly cheesesteak from Sumela on September 13. When I got home and opened the box, I noticed that there was no cheese in the sandwich. Additionally, there was barely any meat on the other half of the bun, as you can see in the pictures.

This was an excellent meal! Amazing, flavorful menu. Pita and grape leaves were particularly exceptional. Service was a bit slow and food took longer than expected to come out, but well worth the wait. Reserva una mesa ahora

Great food,great location, and a diverse menu. I tried the Mediterranean wrap with the piyaz(bean salad) and I’ll be back more often. Some of the best service I’ve had in High Point.

Lentil soup is okay, but lahmacun 100% not Turkish. I couldn’t eat it, test and look of it nothing like lahmacun. They should change name of this food to something else.
