Unfortunately, I feel compelled to leave this review even though the staff was friendly. This establishment is very troubled and I wish them well, but we won't be back. 5:45 reservations on a Friday and we were the only ones there when we arrived. We placed a relatively simple order within minutes of arrival, but didn't get any food served and had to leave without a meal to get to our 7pm show just down the street at the high school. Big disappointment. There was one sushi chef and lots of take out orders being filled, but even after notifying them (at 6:25pm) that we needed to leave by 6:55pm, no progress was made on our order placed an hour earlier (yet take-out boxes were still getting pr...

Such a disappointment. This was my favorite sushi restaurant for the last 10 years! I think, recently, they’ve had a change in ownership because their hours are different (wrong hours on google) and they completely changed their menu and got rid of ALL their well known and loved rolls. There is not much on the menu now and they upped the prices of their rolls so now the basic rolls cost just as much as the specialty rolls used to. And, there’s no way to contact the managers/owners. I tried sending a Facebook message and the response I got back was from someone who used to manage the restaurant 10 years ago but doesn’t work there anymore. I know this place had a hard time staying open but why...

This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I was really impressed by their wide range of rolls and diverse menu, which gives plenty of reasons to come back. Everything we sampled, from the martinis to the appetizers and main course, was delicious and expertly prepared. The location in a strip mall in Palatine offers plenty of parking, and you might even find a Groupon deal for dining here. I highly recommend trying the Sexy Lady Martini, Sushi-Ai Martini, and the Popcorn Lobster. Enjoy the photos I took; they truly capture the experience!

We decided to visit this restaurant after a recommendation from a close friend. We allowed the chef to select our dishes, and we were absolutely delighted with the sashimi he prepared for us—it was incredible! The only letdown was that they were out of UNI, and while we saw CHUTORO and OTORO Tuna listed at market price on the menu, they didn’t have those available either. I've visited this restaurant many times for lunch, but I eventually lost count. Situated at the end of a typical strip mall, this place had the best lunch specials. I especially loved the shrimp tempura with grilled chicken. Although I no longer work nearby, I was looking forward to returning to reconnect with some former colleagues. Unfortunately, it seems to be closed now, which is quite disappointing. It looks like it may have fallen victim to the pandemic.

I used to come here frequently when I worked in the area. The food has always been consistently good and the staff is friendly. I was here a week ago with a friend and everything tasted just as I had remembered. They have really awesome lunch specials!

I usually love sushi ai but I got it for pickup today and got a shrimp tempura roll and the shrimp was not deveined. Made me lose my appetite

Great sushi place. Lots of choices. The yellow fin tuna is really quite good, as was the salmon.
