Unfortunately, I feel compelled to leave this review even though the staff was friendly. This establishment is very troubled and I wish them well, but we won't be back. 5:45 reservations on a Friday and we were the only ones there when we arrived. We placed a relatively simple order within minutes of arrival, but didn't get any food served and had to leave without a meal to get to our 7pm show just down the street at the high school. Big disappointment. Such a disappointment. This was my favorite sushi restaurant for the last 10 years! I think, recently, they’ve had a change in ownership because their hours are different (wrong hours on google) and they completely changed their menu and got rid of ALL their well known and loved rolls. There is not much on the menu now and they upped the prices of their rolls so now the basic rolls cost just as much as the specialty rolls used to. And, there’s no way to contact the managers/owners. I tried sending a Facebook message and the response I got back was from someone who used to manage the restaurant 10 years ago but doesn’t work there anymore. I recently had my first dining experience at this restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed by the extensive selection of rolls and the variety on the menu, which definitely gives me reasons to return. Everything we tried, from the martinis to the appetizers and main courses, was delicious and expertly crafted. The location in a strip mall in Palatine offers ample parking, and you might even find a Groupon deal for your visit. I highly recommend trying the Sexy Lady Martini, Sushi-Ai Martini, and the Popcorn Lobster. Don't miss the photos I took; they really capture the experience!

I've been to this restaurant numerous times for lunch, though I've lost track of exactly how many visits. Located at the end of a typical strip mall, it used to offer fantastic lunch specials. I particularly enjoyed the shrimp tempura paired with grilled chicken. Even though I no longer work nearby, I was eager to return and catch up with some former colleagues. We chose to visit this restaurant based on a recommendation from a close friend. We let the chef pick our dishes, and we were completely thrilled with the sashimi he prepared for us—it was amazing! The only disappointment was that they were out of UNI, and even though CHUTORO and OTORO Tuna were listed on the menu at market price, they weren’t available either. Nonetheless, we’re still giving it a solid 5 stars. My wife and I will definitely come back!

I used to come here frequently when I worked in the area. The food has always been consistently good and the staff is friendly. I was here a week ago with a friend and everything tasted just as I had remembered. They have really awesome lunch specials!

I usually love sushi ai but I got it for pickup today and got a shrimp tempura roll and the shrimp was not deveined. Made me lose my appetite

Great sushi place. Lots of choices. The yellow fin tuna is really quite good, as was the salmon.
