I had to drop them a star today after my experience there. So I go online and it says open so I assumed I could go there for lunch while at work to eat there and then come back, because everything is open these days. I walk over to see a sign that says you must do take out or delivery. Neither of which I wanted but I 've wasted 5 minutes of my lunch break walking over there so I 'm commited now. I only wanted a cucumber jalepeno roll, a soup and a house salad. 2 of those items you don 't even have to make. The soup is already made and the salad is a bagged salad they shake into a plastic clamshell container. How long could it take that make that? They quote me 20 MINUTES! Fine. I walk around...
I absolutely adore this restaurant. It's not just because they are one of the few excellent sushi places that offers a great selection of low-carb rolls, but also because everything is fresh, consistent, and outstanding. We've tried every type of dish they offer, and you really can't go wrong with any of them. In addition to their sushi, I highly recommend the spicy kani salad, garlic shrimp, pork and chive dumplings, and fried rice. Montclair has its fair share of Japanese restaurants, but this gem truly deserves more recognition.
I've been living in Montclair my whole life, and this has consistently been my favorite sushi place. They just never fail. I went to college for 4 years, and the only thing I requested when I came home for holidays was this place. They clearly work so hard and it pays off, seriously reasonable prices for high-quality sushi and Japanese cuisine. I have probably gone here upwards of 100 times, and it just never gets old. Thank you for being such a consistent staple!
This review is long overdue! It's my favorite sushi place and in a great area in Montclair. You are able to order their frozen dumplings to make at home as well! I found this place back in 2020 and have been hooked ever since. My go-to order is the negimayaki, shrimp tempura rolls and sweet potato rolls. Their sweet potato rolls are out of this world!!! After eating at other sushi spots, you will always find yourself coming back to Sushi Hana for theirs.

I absolutely love this restaurant! I always order the salad and sushi, and it never disappoints. The Foxwood roll is fantastic—definitely one of the best sushi rolls I've ever tasted!
When I got to get sushi in the Montclair area, I prefer Sushi Koshi. This place was well priced and OK tasting, but it just wasn't quite as good as Koshi.
Really excellent sushi at affordable price. Tried 4 different house rolls with various proteins, house salad and fried chicken soy garlic. All amazing!!
This is the best sushi I've had around here. My favorite dish was the Harley Quinn roll. I will definitely be returning!
