I only saw two options in FSJ for sushi, so I gave this one a try. First visit was take out, and everything was good, portions were descent and pretty fresh.Second visit I dined in, and it was still good, but didn't seem as fresh as last time, chefs behind the counter seem in the zone and preoccupied with making the food, while the workers and order takers are a little slow and scattered. It's a average sushi joint, but in FSJ , there wasn't much choice. Will try the other place down the street next time to compare.
I usually go to the other sushi place in FSJ but they aren't open between lunch and dinner hours. I had a 5pm flights so I grabbed some rolls to go to bring to the airport with me. I am quite happy with this find because they have great quality ingredients and the spicy tuna rolls had large pieces of tuna and the avocados used for my avocado roll were perfectly ripened. I'll for sure be back here again!
Okay l am a sushi snob, you either have me or you don't. I have tried sushi all over the country and MOMOS is my standard, now remember this were in FSJ, not Vancouver... So considering where we are Heavens is pretty damn good and way above average, yes some portions could be bigger. But the quality, color and tastes are there and the staff are great.
We went here for a lunch as we have just moved here and left our favourite sushi place in the Okanagan. I heard this place was the best around so thought I would give it a shot. The green tea sits in a large coffee urn... which is a shame as it's much better fresh and in a tea pot, the sushi was decent and I will go back to give it a shot again.
We've been going to Sushi Heaven since it opened. Having tired the spicy tuna roll world over, you can't beat Sushi Heaven's! Great staff and service, everything's very authentic, great presentation. The owner is usually the guy crafting your order behind the sushi bar. Where do you find that kind of commitment? Right in the heart of downtown.
