Sushi Yaki is likely the best value proposition for Sushi in Lake Forest. I feel like this restaurant has been at this location since the city of El Toro was renamed Lake Forest in 1991 and I have no good reason for not checking out this great little mom pop long before now. The interior is small but charming with Japanese kitch adorning the walls and possibly the friendliest husband and wife team in the OC Sushi game. In fact, I would return for that reason alone. We ordered ahead for our team lunch at work and the food was prepared and ready on time. We arrived. A little earlier than expected so they were finishing up but we didn't have to wait long. They have super cute decor around the restaurant, not sure if the owners enjoy crochet but a lot of cute things around the restaurant. Anyways, we ordered bento boxes for each team member and the food was both plentiful and delicious. First time eating here but I have a feeling that I will definitely be back for more.
I absolutely love sushi and make it a point to enjoy it whenever I'm not eating home-cooked meals. This restaurant offers the best sushi I've experienced in the area. Every time I visit, I always place a to-go order as well! If you give it a try, you'll understand why. Food: 5/5
Decent quality food. But the winner is really the value that you get. The combos, and even just the individual rolls themselves are quite a bit heftier than the competition. Add the fact that the food is actually pretty good and you got yourself a go-to spot.

The food was very disappointing. While the prices were reasonable, they didn’t reflect the quality of what I received. I ordered the deluxe bento, but the only item I enjoyed was the basic, mediocre salad. Overall, I would rate the food a 1 out of 5.
**Vegetarian options:** I noticed they offer a Vegetarian Yakisoba.
**Kid-friendliness:** The atmosphere is definitely enjoyable for kids.
**Wheelchair accessibility:** There is a ramp available.
Nice little neighborhood place. Get the Benton box. Sashimi deluxe was sad looking. The sashimi cut so thin I can almost see thru it. Nothing like the menu picture.
YUM. Great, fresh sushi and the salad was fresh and generous with a delicious homemade sweet garlic dressing. Avocados perfectly ripe. Exactly what I was craving!
